GCU Fall 2015 Transfer Hopefuls

Published

Hey everyone!!

I am applying to GCU for the Fall Fast Track program at the AT Still campus, but I heard it is super hard to get in as a transfer, especially at the AT Still campus. Wanted to reach out and see if there are any other GCU transfer hopefuls? Wondered if we could compare stats, tips, desired campuses, etc. :) I am just so nervous!

Did you have time to talk to your advisor?

He's going to give me a call in about an hour. I'll post what I hear from him:)

@segrace is right. They aren't taking any transfers for fall and may not even take any for the next either. He made it sound like they did some numbers and know that from all the people from the summer that got pushed to fall and all the regular fall apps, they wouldn't even get to tier 3. But who knows! All i know now is they aren't taking them. I asked for a refund for the hesi I just took and my background check I paid for since I planned on applying to gcu only. This stinks!

@livesmama14 are they issuing you a refund?

He said he would look into who I needed to speak to for the hesi and I emailed the background check company. I hope so!

I think they should. I applied to summer too. So I've been dragged along this whole time. It's pretty sad.

segrace, that is the impression I am getting, too. They kept telling me not to worry about getting certain things done until I am accepted to the program, but now I am starting to question everything they told me. Nobody seems to care about transfers, not even my "advisor's" manager gave a crap that she would not return ANY of my voice mails, emails, and text messages. When I mentioned that the VA would be paying them directly, but if they don't care for guaranteed payment I could take my money somewhere else, he was all ears but still not enthusiastic about helping me. He was more annoyed than anything.

Erickamendez, I took the Hesi test today. I have a GPA of 3.9 and got an overall of 92.8 on the Hesi. It does not seem to matter since they don't seem to accept any transfers this fall semester and probably not after that either. This school has done nothing but give me the runaround, didn't give me all the info I required, and nobody seems to give a damn. It's quite sad and I am really pi**ed off about how things are being handled at this "university".

Really sorry to read about what you are all going through with GCU. Can you file a formal complaint with the dean or president of the university, as a group perhaps? If they misrepresented their program and its requirements, gave false information and guidance that isn't right. They at least owe you some honest answers.

Please don't give up hope on pursuing nursing. I decided on NAU CEP and got accepted for summer start after a year long process. It might be the best route for some of you, so far they have been very up front and it's a great program. ASU CEP is as well. Just wanted to say stay the course and whatever happens with GCU don't lose sight of your goal!

@Mel2707 You took the HESI today? Have you talked to an advisor? This is why they should have emailed us as soon as they made this decision. I can't believe they are still letting transfer students take the HESI and apply to their school, if they know they aren't going to accept them.

Thanks girl. Ya I am applying to NAU CEP for fall. I had to scramble and figure out what to do after the disappointment of the summer program being cancelled but I still had hope for GCUs fall start. The ONLY reason I want to do GCU is so I can graduate sooner but this school is so unorganized. I feel that CEP will probably be my best choice, it's just gonna take a lot longer :/

Thanks azgal81 too for the advice! I'm still unsure of where to turn to now, But glad you chimed in with the program you're in because I was thinking of that! Gcu was just the fastest, which was a main reason I was applying there too
