GCU Fall 2017

Is there anyone else applying for GCU Fall 2017? I thought we could start a thread for all of us as we count down the days for deadline and the dreaded wait.

I have always liked GCU's program. I initially applied to ASU's program a few years ago when I first switched my major to nursing, the advisor told me that I would be better off taking the rest of my pre-reqs at a community college and then transferring. She also said that their program was exceptionally competitive - I was hopeful for their fast track and she told me that they had roughly 87 seats and majority was saved for their students and the remaining seats (20-30) were left for transfer students! Which sounds completely insane considering how big ASU is.

This wait is killing me! Any other time I would feel like time was flying by...not right now though.

So if we do get in, does anyone know what all we need to buy before the program begins?

We'd have to buy all of our books, the GCU purple scrubs, and stethoscope. I'm not sure what else we might need but I definitely know we need those.

The girls I know that got in to the summer program said there were meetings/seminars they attended. I know books alone were around $600

Can we buy used books?? From where??

From what the girls told me they were all online texts and they were purchased in a bundle! There's like a specific meeting they have just so you can find out that information

Hopefully we will all be sitting in on that meeting!

I was told by a graduate that when she went through they advised them to buy all new books because then you had a paper and online book for each. Of course that might be different now.

Yes I know! And not even including the multiple pairs of scrubs to purchase í ½í¸­ Might have to sell a kidney on the black market lol
