GCU Fall 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Is there anyone else applying for GCU Fall 2017? I thought we could start a thread for all of us as we count down the days for deadline and the dreaded wait.

I'm applying for the fall program! I'm so nervous about it! Fingers crossed.

OH MY GOODNESS, I AM SO SCARED. Anyone know the time frame of when we'd find out if we're in or not?

We'll hopefully find out June 15. If you don't mind me asking, what was your gpa and hesi scores? My nursing gpa is a 3.32 and average hesi score of 90%.

My nursing GPA is a 3.51 and my HESI score was a 94%

Yay! I'm so happy to see some others posting here about applying. What campus/program did you two put as your preferred?

I applied for main campus fast track. I am so sad that they took away Scottsdale and St. Josephs though as they would have both been closer to my home. I have a 4.0 GPA and 95% on my HESI. I took a couple more summer classes just to move up to 1st tier to better my chances of being accepted.

FutureNA... oh wow! I wouldn't worry about your chances! You have great scores! My ssa told me I didn't have to put down a location..

Thank you. I think after the first time I applied and didn't get accepted has me scarred. Though I was in second tier then, and hope all the extra money spent on the summer classes will have been worth it.

So weird, they asked me which I wanted and if I wanted fast track or not. What would you like to be accepted to?

I don't even know which locations are even available... my ssa isn't the best..

I really don't think that any of them seem to be. I had to contact my SSA's supervisor because he wasn't responding to my emails. It's annoying when it's about something so important.

I'm responding late but my SSA didn't ask me what location I wanted. However, I did state that I wanted to do fast track on the main campus. I'll probably ask him about it and, hopefully, he'll decide to answer. I would hope that I got in because I scored a 92% on the anatomy section and most people in the nursing program that I've talked to said that the anatomy section is what can make or break your acceptance.

Also, does anyone know if they specifically look at or care for the personality and learning type sections? I haven't seen anyone discuss the reasons for these, but, I think it may have to do with cohort placement. Not exactly sure though.

From what I've been told it's the overall percentage that you have on the HESI that they look at. Though I saw on your other post that you are in the 90's as well so that's awesome. I wouldn't think that they would look at the personality and learning type to dictate acceptance, I think that's more just extra information.
