I was working as an LVN at a LTC didn't finish my probation period. I gave this job up for a government job at a military base as a clinical coordinator tomorrow is my first day and i am so nervous i hope that i gave up LTC for something that will stay at for a long time only problem is this job is more administrative duties keep in mind i am a new grad.. so i am very nervous i will setting up a new program for soldiers called teleconference.
I am nervous that at this job i will loose my nursing skills i don't Evan wear scrubs. So basically i would like advice the benefits that this job offers are awesome the pay is good but will this be good for me as a New Grad? and if not should i look elsewhere i just want a stable job.

Sounds like your questioning your decision??? Im sure its just nerves. Try the new job out and see how you like it. Clinicals are good to have if you want to be a floor nurse. Everyone is not meant to be a floor nurse. It looks worse on your resume if you job hop. Stay put and see what happens. You need something stable and it sounds like this job is a possibility.

Not sure what you did at the LTC, but I discovered that when I took a break from nursing to be with my kids, and came back, I didn't really "lose" skills. You'll need to refresh and update your skills, but it won't be like starting from scratch.
A great job is hard to come by these days, so go for it!! Best wishes!

Congratulations on your new job!I worked for the military in the past and loved the job!
I had numerous opportunities for further education. Any skills you lose can be easily relearned.Good luck and enjoy the job!

That seems better LVN2010M! I'm looking for another job myself too. I'm still trying to stick out in the facility that I work while I'm still job hunting for a better opportunity. Good Luck!
