Verah interesting........

Looks to me like it's a separate application process. Don't know what the wait list is like for it, but for those of you on the waitlist for the RN program, it might not hurt to apply here too. You qualify.

i thought pharm was part of the program? they have it listed as a part of gateway's and the skills centers, is there a different pharm they are talking about? also, the way i am reading the fast track app, it seems you do have to take the hesi and score 800 and above to get in. is there anyone that has actually taken this route that could share what the procedures actually are?

thanks for the info.

i cannot imagine that being for the lpn fast track program, or i assume the advisor would have mentioned that to me. all she said was the net test and have a cna. im so confused now. i mean, it doesn't really matter as im nowhere close to going to school now, but would still like to know......

You only need those for advanced placement... meaning for admission into the Block 3 ( is what Knit1 is referring to)

In other news I went to the Fasttrack Application thing today here's the scoop....

30ish spots for days

40ish spots for evening

First priority to Gateway Partner programs ( employers who offer to pay for their programs for their LPN candidates)

After those are placed then comes the waitlist from the fall program fasttrack applications.

Then those with completed applications from this batch are entered into a database and are selected lottery style.:banghead:

Letters go out end of November via mail or email advising of placement or waitlisted.

Very very important that you have completed the TWO STEP TB TEST

So what exactly ARE he chances? Although they tell you there is "no" waitlist, since they actually pull fall applicants first, it's a little misleading. I wonder if going to one of the skill center's would save someone time and frustration? I know someone who is reall wanting to get in by next Aug. and she doesn't have alot of time to wait. She is trying to move out of state soon as she finishes. Did the advisor tell you what the chances are or how many spots will be leftover?

It was the program director that spoke to us and she said she did not know how many spaces there were at all and said that she would not know. It seems to be the consenses (sp?) when you look here for Gateway posts everyone hears the same.

The private route is the only way to avoid a wait anywhere pretty much. The skills centers may have Aug openings with less trouble but I have no info on them.

I was there too on Monday and I did not have my two step TB test. I have to do this and then submit my app on November 5. I had my TB test but not the one they wanted.

I don't wuite get this two-step process...what's the point? I asked my physician about it and she suggested it wasn't anymore of a safety precaution than a regular TB test.

my doc told me the same thing yesterday. i was so mad about this whole thing because i took their form to my doctor's office and he went with me through all those immunizations listed on their sheet and i thought that the tb test i had was what was needed. that 2 step i thought that when i went to my docs office second time to check it, that was that second step. how am i supposed to know that there are two different tb tests?

I googled it to get the protocall because the doctor's offices I went to had no clue what I meant when I said two step.

I did the 1 week wait then tested again instead of waiting 3 weeks. They accepted it.

It seems every program now is requiring it this application process.. well CC level that I have check that is.

I did the first test yesterday, and I am going to the second next Wednesday.

So, officially, it is going to be completely randomized and they have no idea how many spots they have for us that applied this week? If we do not get to January program are we going to be placed to August automatically or do we have to apply again?
