Gaston College PN Program

Did anyone else apply to Gaston College for fall 2011? I spoke with admissions and was told that they had over 250 applicants for 80 spots. Also, I was originally told that letters were going out at the end of March. Now they are saying the end of April. I'm just hoping for the best! :)

You still can get in, I'm sure there will be slots available after May 13, that's the deadline for returning in the forms and I heard alot of the students got other offers, so you will get in. Stay positive, as you are and things will work out.

Ncnurse what was you ACT score and your gpa? If you care to share. My ACT score was a 19 and my gpa 4.0, I also took nutrition bio155, which give me additional points. Did you take your classes at Gaston,

I took my English class at another college and got a C, was advised to take it again, took it again at Gaston and got an A, which gave me additional points.

My ACT was 22 and my overall GPA was 3.66 (that's with 76 credits) but my overall for the classes just for the program was 3.0. I was lacking the nutrition course which I will complete next week at another college. I currently have an A and I will definitely finish it with an A. Thanks for the positive words!! I am still waiting on 2 other schools as well but I really want to get into Gaston :)

Hi Kaylen26, I was unable to send pm but I also applied for day class. I gave my letter to the secretary. I wish I could get a head start on things. :).

Onmyway, you mentioned that you took a nutrition class. Was it the NUR 118 nutrition/diet therapy course? I didn't apply for the fall 2011 PN but would like to know if I could take NUR 118 during the fall semester. Thanks!

You cannot take Nur 118 unless you are enrolled in the actual Nursing program. It is considered a "NUR" class.
