Gaston College PN Program

U.S.A. North Carolina

Did anyone else apply to Gaston College for fall 2011? I spoke with admissions and was told that they had over 250 applicants for 80 spots. Also, I was originally told that letters were going out at the end of March. Now they are saying the end of April. I'm just hoping for the best! :)

Optimisticallyhappy Bio155 is a online nutrition course that gives you more points than the nur118. If I'm not mistaken Nur 118 is the only Nur course you can take without being in the program. When I had talked to S she told me to take either one but bio155 is more points.

Violet and Kaylen, thank you for responding with that helpful information. I did not know that BIO 155 would be given more points since it was not outlined in the GC PN curriculum outline. Are there any other courses that would be given additional points if taken other than PSY 110, BIO 163, and ENG 111? Would NUR 118 still be required to be taken if one already took BIO 155? Is there a seperate application for the practical nursing program that needs to filled out?

A&P 1 and 2, BIO 168/169 will give you more points.

Yes Nursing is a completely different application.

I'm sorry for the delay.

Did anyone go to orientation?

What kind of things do they ask for on the application?...How do they tally up points?...Do they give extra points if you have your CNA certification, CNA work experience, extra classes you've taken other than PSY 110, BIO 163, ENG 111, etc.

It's a basic application. Name, address, etc..

They look at the required courses and your GPA related to those courses. You get so many points for an A, B, C. You also get extra points for every point over 18 your earn on the ACT test, which they use as an entrance tool.

The 60 students with the most points get in. CNA, work experience, etc, is not something important with the point system.
