Gaston College Lpn 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Good evening,

Who all applied for the Lpn program starting this August 2018 at Gaston College?

Specializes in ICU.

Perhaps, I know that forsyth determines ties with their science TEAS score. But their point system is different. :)

I'm so excited and nervous!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHH

Hey guys!! I also received my acceptance letter last week. Question??? Which section did you choose? I chose the evening option due to my full-time job, however my husband said that he can handle the household so that I can focus on school. Either way I'll stick with the evening option. I'm excited!!!

I picked days since im a single mom í ½í¸… I would rather have reliable daycare & a list of people who can pick him up in case of an emergency.

Wow! You plan on working full time?? Im not sure I could even manage part time :o you are brave! Im applying for a bunch of scholarships to help financially while in school. I also love an hour away so including driving its going to be 40 hour weeks í ½í¸£

Originally, I was going to work, but me and my husband discussed the school work load and we agreed that I shouldn't work, but I will remain in the evening option, if granted. If they give me the day option it wouldn't matter cause either way I won't be working.

I'll work until the beginning of August and take a week break before class starts.

Well guys and girls I got accepted into the program. I guess someone opted out.

Have any of y'all started working on your castle branch "to-do" list? I've noticed that one of them wants us to sign a form saying that we read the student handbook for our practical nursing program, yet I don't see where to read it? I never got one? Also they want is to check yes about reading HIPPA and OSHA documents which I'm unsure where to access and read as well. :/ How are we supposed to get that accomplished by orientation? Y'all think they'll be sending us some stuff in the mail or giving these out during orientation?

Thanks ! No they didn't tell what number I was on the waitlist. I had 10 points. They did not give me a option to choose day or night. Did they give you all a option of which to choose on your acceptance letter or after you let them know you were accepted?

Yes, I'm half way done with my check list (with what's due by 6/21). I too am trying to figure out where the HIPAA and OSHA information is located. I even went to Blackboard to see if it could be up there, but it's not. Besides those two I still need my drug test, TB, physical, MMR imm., CPR and that's all. I called Mrs. Burgess and left a message about a question regarding Castlebranch, so hopefully she'll call me back tomorrow.

Can the physical be completed at an Urgent Care or does it have to be my regular physician?

Yes, we got an option to choose day or evening, however they said that it is not set in stone. Pretty much your request may be denied and you have to attend the alternate depending on space.

When you hear back from her will you let me know?

Thankfully when I went into the CNA program last year they started requiring vaccinations so I had everything prepared for that portion. I also got CPR certified so I'm basically stuck at HIPPA; OSHA; and the LPN student handbook :/ I got my drug test done before i went to my A&P class yesterday and made an appointment at the health department next Wednesday for my physical. I don't see why either the health department or urgent care would be an issue. It just says that it needs to be completed by a physician, physician assistant or NP. It doesn't say anything about having to be completed your regular physician.
