Hello! I'll be attending Galen's LVN program October 2019- days. I'm wondering if anyone else will be starting at that time? AND if anyone has been through the LVN program, what is the full-time/days program schedule ike? How difficult is the program? Thanks for any and all info! And hopefully I can connect with some fellow students. ?

Hey hello I was interested in attending Galens october lvn program start date. Can you tell me how the PAX test was and the steps to get into the program.
Hi there! I took the PAX a couple years ago and I really didn’t study much for it. I thought it was pretty easy/basic. I made a 135. I think you only need an 80 to get in. I would just use their free study booklet and you will do fine. Are you looking to do the day program?
I will definitely look for the free book to study from asap. I do plan on attending the day time program what about you?
Yes! Definitely plan on doing the full time/day program.

Hello,
Congratulations on your acceptance!!! I’m in the LVN program at Galen. I have one week left to go before I’m done but Galen is a really good school. The instructors there really want to see you succeed. It’s a fast pace program so it’s going to be challenging. So if you’re not good with prioritizing your time then you definitely need to work on it. Class times and schedules vary each quarter. 1st quarter the classes were super long but once you get to second quarter it doesn’t seem that bad.
I wish you luck in you nursing journey ?

I'm working on getting enrolled for the January 6th Day Program for LVN. I submitted my entrance exam (my scores were good) and my financial aid information. While I am waiting I have so many questions they said would get answered later. By when do I need to have all of my immunizations done? Admissions told me not to worry about it just yet, but HepB takes 6 months. Also what is pricing like for the scrubs we have to wear. Do we buy all of the other items separate? How is pricing on textbooks?
Hi Kimberly,
Congratulation on your acceptance!!! Most of immunization you should have from childhood! Hep B vaccine as long as you have the 1st dose you will be fine. If I recall clinical started 6 weeks after we started school 1st quarter by then you have to have them. Scrubs are 100.00 but you can buy you own and go have the school logo but on for cheaper. 1st quarter they give you all your book thereafter you’ll pay for your book. I recommend going amazon, I found my books at reasonable prices. I hope this helped!!!?

Thank you so much! I don't have access to my shot records from when I was a child. I haven't gotten the first Hep B, but plan to get it next week. Do you know if I can do the accelerated dosage? I started getting them when I worked for a nursing home, but I only got the first two. Did the schedule usually stick to about 8-5? I am worried about getting my kids from daycare and after school program on time.
I’m not sure about the accelerated dosage. You might only need the last dose if it hasn’t been that long. 1st quarter our 1st class started at 7:30 so yes the schedule is 7:30-5. The schedule gets better after 1st quarter.
