FY 2018 Air Force NTP

Hi everyone! So I'm currently in nursing school & I will be graduating in August 2017 with my BSN. Anyone else applying for the July selection boards? I've already submitted all of my paperwork/LOR's, and my recruiter said that my CN interview is going to be within the next 3 weeks...so exciting! I've read a ton of forums from people that have applied for NTP in the past, and they seem to be very insightful/encouraging...so I just figured I'd reach out and see who else might be applying this year! :)

I'm in northern IL and the recruiter I've been speaking with is in Ohio

Yeah. The healthcare recruiters cover a lot of area and have a lot of applications to go thru. But my recruiter was good about either texting me back or calling me back. I would call or text them if I had a question.

I like to know what is going on so when I fi st started I asked if I could get an overview of the process and how long it might take. My recruiter emailed me a checklist and went over a vague timeline of what happens. I would just ask and see if your recruiter could explain the process a little better. It is a slow process up to a year or more sometimes. But most of the time it is hurry up and fill this paperwork out and now wait a few weeks to do the next thing.

He's been good about answering me via text I've found out, and he did outline the steps for me. I'm working as a travel nurse right now and I'm planning on taking a permanent job close to the base near me if/when I'm able to commission. It's just a hurry up and wait game!

Is anyone else applying to the upcoming NTP board this summer?

I asked my recruiter for a timeline and summary of how the process would go. He sent me a summary of the process. This helped to know what I would need to be ready for boards and at least helped if I didn't hear from him for a few weeks.

Awesome! Did your recruiter give you an estimate as to when the board date is? I know it was shifted, maybe a month ago

I was told the board date is on 26 July.

As of now it should wrap up around 21 August. Hopefully notifications should be in the following days however looking at past forums it seems as though boards and notifications took place in September as board date kept getting pushed back. Have you heard anything?
