FY 2022 AF & Navy packets

Just curious who has packets in for Air Force or Navy for the upcoming boards in October  and how your processes are going. 
 

I have a packet in with both services, hoping to get a coveted OR slot since they are very few and far between. I passed MEPS in May and am now just twiddling my thumbs until I hear what’s next. 
 

Has anyone heard the numbers of billets opened for nurses in 2022?

I just checked in with my recruiter. Apparently the budget hasn’t been approved yet. She’s hopeful to have results by the end of November.

Sad part maybe I can do one more contract for traveling job. I will take advantage of this opportunity. I am thinking make use of my time.

You might be able to squeak another one out. OTS dates are mid January

I am submitting my packet for the navy this week or next. Been waiting 2 years, for the ER.

You waited to 2 years to get into the Air Force? Do you have any idea what is the previous reason why you did not get in?

No, navy. They didn’t need ER nurses. Each year there have only been like three or four billets. I’m only joining as an ER nurse, I refuse to go in as anything else. Now with trauma experience I moved to the front of the pack

I know it is hard to get in. Hopefully it will be a good year for us or this selection board. I am considering navy next year.

It’s been insanely hard. I’ve had everything ready to go for two years. The first year, my packet wasn’t finished in time to submit before the billets were taken. Last year, there was only four spots available and they chose people who had been rolled back from the previous year. 
 

so, we’ll see. I have a lot more experience now and have trauma experience which puts me at the front of the pack (hopefully!). So we’ll see!

I hear that! My navy recruiter ghosted me in August, so that packet is toast for this year. The board for the AF has been pushed with no concrete date as of yet, but my packet submitted for one of 3 available slots. Never hurts to keep trying!
