Just curious who has packets in for Air Force or Navy for the upcoming boards in October and how your processes are going.
I have a packet in with both services, hoping to get a coveted OR slot since they are very few and far between. I passed MEPS in May and am now just twiddling my thumbs until I hear what’s next.
Has anyone heard the numbers of billets opened for nurses in 2022?
Nobody is going to know. Each branch takes differing numbers of nurses each year depending on retirements, separations and ROTC commissions. The boards that make these decisions determine the number of selectees at the very end of the process. A recruiter would be able to tell you only how many people they took last cycle, but that's about it.
If you can't find a GS nursing position on base (usajobs), I'd recommend you start working on an MSN (informatics and management don't require clinicals) or other degree so you can at least show that you're doing something with your time. The Air Force and Navy both take new grads, but you missed the boat on that if you graduated already; the app takes 1 year if everything goes perfect.

I think all of them. But it is very tricky. I did not apply for the navy because I like the AF. Do you have any idea when will be the results come ?
