Funny thing that happened just now.

I deal with wiggly teeth that may/may not fall out that day. I had one student who came twice, "it's wiggling! help me!" and then the next one was "IT FELL!" So I usually clean the teeth up with blood, put it in the little tooth necklaces I have and congratulate the child and say I will put their name on the tooth fairy club poster outside my bulletin board. Well this one, I was cleaning it next to the sink, when I accidentally moved my elbow, it fell in the drain. I was just staring at the sink for a while thinking "Did this just happen?" I turned to the kid slowly and told him what happened. We just stared at each other for a few minutes and he started to laugh so hard and I started to laugh. He just accepted the necklace and said it's okay Ms. Amethya and left happily. I called mom after he left and told her what happened, she laughed and it said it was fine.

You guys have funny things like this happen to you too?

Sounds like a Monday Morning if I've ever heard one! At least the kid thought it was funny, and Mom didn't yell. Phew! I hold up the box, have the kid drop the tooth inside and quickly put a piece of tape on top. I'm too scared of doing just that... plop! My fingers forsake me on a good day most of the time.

I had a kid drop their pill right into the drain on my floor. We both just stood there looking at it.

So glad kid had a sense of humor about it.

Basically us, but had a great laugh at the end.

That's why I called because sometimes parents like save the teeth (My mom has mine still) so that's why I called and she just laughed and said it was okay.

I had a kid lose their tooth in their classroom and then lose the tooth on the way to the health office. The kid was quite upset but I gave them a tooth box anyway and told them to write the tooth fairy a letter explaining what happened. Then I gave Mom and Dad a head's up. :)

I had a CP kiddo with dental issues, he had his baby teeth removed at the dentist the day before and was so bummed that he didn't get a tooth necklace. So I gave him one, but he was still sad because it was empty and he couldn't shake it and make noise. I fixed that by putting 2 tic tacs inside, it made his week! He wore it everyday for the rest of the week.

Another little boy swallowed his tooth, he was crying because now the toothfairy wasn't going to come. I printed his a certificate to leave for the tooth fairy so that she would know he really did lose it.

I had one drop their tooth behind my cot that is up against a wall wedged between carts and cabinets. Little guy was so upset. We moved everything and finally found it. Not an easy task. Teeny white tooth on a white linoleum floor. He was so happy.

I guess they can get DNA from teeth years after they're out. Can be useful later on.

It's really sweet that you all help children like this. Thank you!

That's my guess too, my mom STILL (I'm 26 years old) has ALL of baby teeth. I asked her if she wants to throw them away because they're old, but she's like, "it's a memory!".
