Important Tricyclics:

I Have to Hide, the CIA is after me. :lol2:

Clomipramine, Imipramine, Amitriptyline.

If want the next 3 worth knowing, the DND is also after me: Desipramine, Nortriptyline, Doxepin.

-(Heating = Posterior hipothalamo [hypothalamus]. Anterior hipothalamo [hypothalamus] = Cooling.

Features of Argyll-Robertsons Pupils:

Argyll-Robertsons Pupil is like a prostitute.

- (She/he will accommodate, but will not react. Pupil still accommodates, but doesn'treact to light. Pupil is a common sign in syphilis, which is often carried by prostitutes)

Causes of red eye:

GO SUCK

- (Glaucoma, Orbital disease, Scleritis, Uveitis, Conjunctivitis, Keratitis.)

We actually use the term 'POBA' for the (rare) times we perform angioplasty without stenting: "plain ol' balloon angioplasty".

Oh, what a coincidence that you just posted this, I've been learning a few different mnemonics for a neuro system test I'm having tomorrow. There is a weird dirty one for the 12 cranial nerves, but I don't want to offend anymore! Another one I read for remembering whether the cranial nerves are sensory, motor, or both is: Some say marry money, but my brothers say, big boobs matter more. (and if anyone is offended by that one, I'm a female WITHOUT big boobs, and still think it's funny!)

These aren't really Mnemonics, but fun and helpful anyway!

For lab values:

A great pair of BUNS is a 10 double it to get 20 (safe range for BUN is 7-24, but 10 to 20 will get you there!)

For Creatinine, (hope not to offend) The world was created in 7 days -- 0.7 to 1.4(DOUBLE IT)

HgB -- I use the "g" to remember "growth spurt" and you get the safe ranges for male and female -- 12 -16 for females and 14 - 18 for males

and Hct is 3 times Hgb...

P means poor--I only have 3.5-5.0 dollars in my pocket

Not so great, actually, but it worked for me. Especially since I see/hear my classmate saying it in my head in similar tones to a 'your mama' joke...
