Zeiss is an optical lens company. In addition to rifle scopes, optical equipment, they make the glass lenses for cameras, etc. They don't actually make the rifle scope. They made the optical lens used in it.

Well...either way, she named him after the logo on the side of the rifle scope...I guess I should have researched the company further before declaring that they make such things...forgive my ignorance.

Oh, I wasn't being uppity. I was just sharing what they actually do. It makes more sense that you see the name on your rifle scope and at your doctor's office when you know that the optical lens is what they made. Their lenses are used in TONS of things and are generally well regarded.

LOL...so well regarded that someone named a baby after them...and in all CAPITAL letters, no less!

New one today: Aahzlie; pronounced "Oz-lee"

That name sounds like it came straight out of Skyrim. It actually sounds pretty epic.

Worst name I ever heard of was Sha'dynasty. Pronounced "Sha-Dynasty" but often mispronounced as "Shady Nasty".

Girl in my HS (in Tennessee) was named Holly Wood. Why would parents do that to a kid?

Another kid's grandfather was Harry O. Balls. I kid you not. Up until a few years ago "Reserved For Harry O. Balls" was painted in very large letters on the side of Nashville Auto-Diesel College, which he founded and ran for many years. His prominent parking spot always made me chuckle on the way past the place.
