For those that are in Fundamentals, I thought it be kinda helpful if people could post their test questions (if ya can remember them) here on a thread and we could accumulate alot of practice questions that way. I know my chapter tests in my textbook have very few questions. But I wouldnt mind posting some of the questions on my exams to a thread afterwards for others to get practice........I can probably remember quite a few. (We dont get to keep our exams)
Just a suggestion, it may be too time consuming to type questions up on here but I'd be interested to read others stuff

Ok, I'll try
a chain of infection basically shows how bacteria and viruses get into hosts. The key to staying healthy is breaking this chain.
The bacteria or virus has to have a place to live and multiple.
It has to have a way to enter the host (direct contact, kissing, in the air)
a susceptiple host is someone who does not have immunity to the virus.
this is why its so important to wash our hands and wear gloves.
I had to look it up since i'm prenursing..hope i did ok. I have been reading my fundamental book.
MY QUESTION: Explain the difference between primary, secondary and tertiary care...
the sticky thread websites has a link in the third message from sandranurse that can link you to a textbook and practice questions that can give you more practice.
https://allnurses.com/forums/f50/websites-28203.html
just go to the link and match the chapters topics to your chapter topics and then take the practice test.

MY QUESTION: Explain the difference between primary, secondary and tertiary care...
Let's see if I remember this correctly...
Primary Care is seeking out preventative care...screenings, immunizations, etc.
Secondary care is management of chronic conditions to prevent further complications...diabetes, htn.
Tertiary care is to maintain highest level of functioning...MI recovery, rehab, support groups.

What are the parameters for Respiratory Acidosis? S/sx? And how body compensates?
thanks Tnurse, the questions from the prenhall site help a lot, I appreciate everyone elses effort on the site here, but i was looking for practice questions that are more NCLEX style. Here is another fundamental practice site http://wps.prenhall.com/chet_kozier_fundamentals_7
Good luck
Go to a bookstore and buy a Fundamentals Success book or something similar if you want more practice questions. You can even google on teh internet for practice questions if money is an issue, or purchase a used book, or check out your local library, your school library, etc. HTH
yeah, after receiving a B on my test, I did buy that book to become more familiarize with the way nursing tests are written. I was very concerned about the critical thinking and making inferences. The book really helped and by repeating doing them, you will get a hang of it. I just took the second test and I was more confident when answering questions like, "what do you do next?" or "what is the next best step?"

Okay, I'll play...
How about you answer a question, then post a question of your own to let another answer. No test questions (NCLEX style). This could morph into a great resource...and remember...this is a FUNDAMENTALS thread for beginning nursing students.
Pharmacokinetics is the study of the process of drug metabolism (Absorption, duration of action, distribution, and excretion).

Describe the chain of infection and what is meant by a 'susceptable host?'
