Can anyone offer suggestions on how to prepare for answering application based questions on Fundamentals? This is the first class I have taken with this style question and I don't know how to prepare. I took an exam yesterday and felt prepared going in but the high score for the class was a 72 (I'm currently carrying a 4.0, so this is unacceptable). Clearly none of the students prepared properly and the instructor was not overly sympathetic nor helpful. The class text is by Potter and Perry. The end of the chapter questions are NCLEX-style questions but I need to find a source for other questions to drill myself on.
Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

Get a fundamentals 'Success" book (there is a whole series of Davis Success books). It is just NCLEX style questions arranged in chapters that more or less correspond to your book chapters (with rationales which teach you the concepts). You can also buy an NCLEX review text (I used Sanders) and use that also in the same manner. I do the questions in these before any of my exams and I think it helps a lot. By the way, I used Med-Surge Success, Mental Heath Success, etc. Worth the $

I agree with previous message. I wish I would have known sooner to purchase nclex review books to practice those application questions while in nursing school. I realized that majority of my exam questions are similar to those from review books while studying for nclex.
