  1. It all depends on when they receive your official transcript and release your ATT. Our cohort gradated in Dec 2011. Some were able to sit for board by the 2nd wk of Jan. Got our result within the next 1-2 days on the BRN web. Some were delayed several wks.
  2. I got some useful reviews from this web where I got my ACLS certified. Under classes/ACLS and check out the links. Hope u find them useful. :) http://www.pro-cpr.com/
  3. ur score is great.. be confident :)
  4. it depends.. i took NCLEX on the same day as my classmates. we all got the good pop up; however, my name on BON within a week; meanwhile, it takes them 3-4 weeks.. seems like PVT alws works.. so be patient :)
  5. I tried both Kaplan and Saunders for the first two weeks; however, I like Kaplan more so I focus mainly on Kaplan since their questions and answers require more critical thinking for me.... It depends on whichever source you feel more comfortable. Some of my classmates prefer Saunders over Kaplan and vice versa. I personallly like Kaplan, especially, I develop my critical thinking skills through their question trainers. Wish you the best!!
  6. It should be easier for you to find a job in CA since you have years of experiences. I notice may positions from hospitals and other health facilities open for RNs with at least 1 yr of acute experiences. :) Only the new grads have no luck!
  7. I agree with previous post. Kaplan's Decision Tree is a great method to practice NCLEX questions. 1. What is the topic? 2. Assessment vs. Implementation 3. Maslow - prioritize from the lowest level 4. ABC 5. What is the outcome?
  8. Great scores!! Yessss you are definitely ready. Just relax the day before nclex and be confident. :)
  9. I notice some hospitals would hire you as CNA as long as you have completed 1 year of nursing program.
  10. Have you consider applying to the accelerated Entry Level to MSN as some have mentioned above? I have friends who are 3.0 GPA undergrad and got in some CalState University's ELM programs. Otherwise, I still recommend to pursue for a BSN since more hiring employers prefer BSN.
  11. Mine was on hold for 3 days, so I went to verify on the board of registered nursing web. No CC page is a good sign. :)
  12. congrats!!! :)
  13. I agree with previous message. I wish I would have known sooner to purchase nclex review books to practice those application questions while in nursing school. I realized that majority of my exam questions are similar to those from review books while studying for nclex.
  14. Since you will be completing a BS in health science (I assume from CSULB), I suggest to apply to the Entry Level MSN (ELM) if you have never considered. It's an accelerated program for ONLY applicants who have graduated with Bachelor in different fields. You may have higher chances since it's less competitive compare to the regular BSN route. Majority of CSU campuses within Southern California offer this route. Also, drop by nursing department for more information regards to there ELM program or check out this link below for more information. Good luck to you!
