FSW Spring 2018

U.S.A. Florida

Published

It's a bit early, I know. I just wanted to start a thread for all of those looking down the road planning to apply to FSW this fall for the spring 2018 program start..

I'm planning on applying to the Charlotte campus for the Evening/Weekend (ANEW) schedule format.

What campus are you planning on applying to?

What classes are you trying to finish up before applying in Sept/Oct?

What program schedule format will you be choosing (Daytime or evening/weekend)?

Did you take the TEAS VI exam and how did you do?

I look forward to the discussion over the next few months!!

I think its a good idea to share our GPA, TEAS scores, and total admission points so future applicants can refer to our discussion in this thread for when they apply (The same way we rely on information from past FSW threads).

For those who haven't already checked it out, you can figure out your admission points by plugging in your information on the tally sheet (Entry ASN) on the FSW nursing page.

I just got my final grades back from the summer semester and since I already took my TEAS I can give my final application numbers;

GPA - 4.0

TEAS - 89.3%

Total Points - 80

For those of you who are willing (no pressure), please share your points so we, and future applicants, can refer to it when they apply.

You are definitely in with that. Let me congratulate you right now. Soon as I have all my info I will upload it. I found a book defiantly going to buy it and study. Ill skim through the reading section to jog my memory but science and math definitely going to study. Those fractions oh boy I forgot lol. Lemme tally and see how many points I got w|o my TEAS ..

My GPA right now is a 3.3

64pts

Canegurl07,

Thanks for your optimism. I hope you are right! And I know what you are saying about math. I can't believe how much math I forgot from my days in high school 10+ years ago, lol.

Are you sure you are entering the numbers correctly on the spreadsheet? The highest possible points total a person can have without entering a TEAS score is 60 points, and that's with all 9 courses completed and a 4.0 GPA. The "total points" is the big purple number on the right side. I remember you mentioning that you were doing some classes this summer semester. Which ones do you have left to complete?

Lol prolly was doing it wrong I have micro to do and humanities ... I'll recalculate lol it may have been 44 lol

I only had 54 points when I applied the first time. The cut-off was 60. My friend got into Lee For Fall 2017 with 68 total points. My first choice is Lee because I live near Sanibel. However I will commute to Charlotte if I get accepted there.

That's still good. Hopefully we all get into lee. I pick up my study manual Friday and I'm taking the test September 9 I think. Guess between October and December we have to play the waiting game yikes lol. I hate that we even have to take entrance exams I mean that had NOTHING to do with nursing

I was entering it wrong too at first, which is why I thought that may be the case. Haha. Okay ya 44 points sounds right. That's a good score to add to your TEAS score.

Ya its going to be tough to play the waiting game after we submit our applications. I will probably be checking my email all the time..Haha

Sounds good! Yes when it comes down to it, I will be thankful to be accepted to attend any campus. However, since I live an hour and 15 mins away from the Lee campus, I will be praying that I get into Charlotte. Plus I think it would be more enjoyable doing clinicals in hospitals closer to home.

Overall GPA: 3.3

Science prereq: 3.0

Nursing Prereq: 3.6

TEAS: In progress

The points I have so far is a 45 since I haven't taken the TEAS yet. I wanted to take it this week, but I'm hoping my practice exam improves by the end of the week so I can take the test next week. I'm so NERVOUS.

I have taken psychology and sociology. I was two points away from an A in psychology (how annoying I know), but I got an A in sociology. Do you guys know which on they'll take? I'm hoping sociology since I've received an A.

I assume that since the program requires either sociology or psychology as one of the general education classes, you could pick whichever one you want to be applied to your degree. However, I'm not sure how that works exactly. Is there a particular reason why you decided to take both classes? Are they both required for the BSN?

I took sociology because I needed a few electives for the AA degree.

Gottcha! If no one else on here has an answer for you then I would just reach out to one of the program contacts and see what they say.
