FSW Nursing Spring 2016

Published

Formerly Edison state college.

Who is planning to enroll in the nursing program for Spring 2016?

So who is joining me? It's going to be a long process and I simply can not wait to get into the nursing program.

I hope to apply into Lee and get. I haven't taken my HESI yet out of nerves, but have to swallow that pill soon in order to apply.

Good luck on everyone's first day. I'm kinda nervous. I have Fundamentals so I'm taking the textbook but I kept all my books in my car. This year shall be exciting!!! [emoji4][emoji4][emoji4]

Hope everyone had a great first day! Can anyone post the link to the Lee full-time day Facebook page? I can't find it :(

Does anyone know if they allow you to mix and match HESI scores? Like if you did better your first time around on a particular section?

Nope. You do well on one test or the other. No mixing and matching. The test is not hard if you study well.

Did anyone apply for this term and didn't get in? If so, what are your tactics for this year?

One last question, has anyone heard of anyone getting in one week after classes have started?

This will be my first time applying and no i havnt heard of anyone getting in that late. How many points did you have if you dont mind me asking how many points did you have?

I don't remember the exact score, but it was low. The hesi was what held me back. Having had a 75, I wasn't already a straight A student. I mostly had A's and B's. With that low of a hesi score, it didn't work out this semester. Hopefully I can do better. I tried to take the test with only 2 weeks of studying. It didn't help that there was no scratch paper allowed on the math. Well I'll be working on getting better at the exam for next time.

I understand. I took my hesi at a prometric sight. They provide you with scratch paper. Keep in mind that this month is the last month you can take the HESI. They have revised it twice on the site. Right now it says you had to have taken it prior to jan2016. BUT it initially said prior to feb2016. I spoke with the dean today and as long as you take it in Jan you are safe. Would you like to form a study group?

Not sure if anyone checks this anymore but just wondering if you guys had to have mynursinglab. I just got in for the fall and was wondering if it was necessary to buy new for the codes or just buy used. Thanks!

Specializes in Emergency Room.

I just graduated and the only thing you need is ATI. No need to buy the codes the school provides it. It's included in tuition. Much success to you!

Thank you! I wasn't sure if I had to buy the book bundle they were selling or not. Also did you guys use Pharmacology: Connections to nursing? I was debating on buying the 2nd edition instead of the newest. Not sure how they teachers are about students using used texts and if there are any major differences.

theyre selling bundles now? Wow. When we started we were the first class to go to 4 semesters so we were the Guinea pigs. It looks like they overhauled the whole program so I'm not quite sure. When we had pharm we had Prof. Fairfield and he was wonderful. We didn't need the textbook. He taught and we took notes. It looks like they're teaching it online now which is crazy to me...I'm still using his notes!
