FSW Fall 2019

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hi everyone! Just wanted to get a topic started on FSW's Fall 2019 cycle. The application deadline is May 15th. Here are my stats:

When this spring semester ends, I will have taken 8 out of the 9 pre-reqs. (3.62 GPA) I plan on taking A & P II in the summer. I am also taking the TEAS for the first time in May. I am a little stressed that I'm cutting it too close to the deadline and taking the TEAS without A & P II. My #1 choice is Collier ANEW, #2 is Lee ANEW.

Anybody else out there applying for Fall?

Has anyone purchased the polo for the orientation next Friday? It says it needs have the FSW nursing logo.. does anyone know if you can just purchase any FSW polo from the bookstore? I sent an e-mail to the nursing department in regards to this but I am not sure if they will get back to me.

Yea they sell them in the fsw bookstore :) Make sure when you buy it, it has he nursing logo and not another program like the radiology program's logo.

Hello, this is my first time posting here. Did anybody find a way to get the code cheaper? Is it required to have it on day one? Thanks and good luck future nurses!

Hi everyone. Did any of you have had problem with opening the link to the mandatory online orientation? My web says ACCESS DENIED.

Hey everyone! I'm a level 2 Lee traditional student. Congrats on those that were accepted into the program! I posted this link last semester on my classes allnurses page and I will share it again for those of you that still need access to the books. Please make sure to use your BUCS email address or you will not be able to access.

I have included all the books needed in a pdf as well as some other books and resources. In regards to the codes I chose to purchase them separately and I only ended up purchasing one out of the two codes that come with the $1000 package. I ended up not purchasing the pharmacology code because I used the trial period to complete all the assignment ahead of time as they were open from day 1. This did not work for the other code because the assignments are opened in relation to the instructors due dates. If you don't mind using PDF books instead of physical copies this should save you a significant amount of money.

You will have a trial period of 15 days once the class starts. After those 15 days it will give you the option to purchase if you haven't already.

For those that are purchasing the package and are having trouble with the bookstore not having the books or whatever. There is a bookstore right in front of the Lee campus that normally has them in stock and accepts financial aid. The name is Textbook Brokers (239) 703-7629.

Thank you so much for this. This was very nice of you. This year however, they completely changed the books and we are not using Prearson ? it’s Lippincot and I think that’s why people have so many questions because until you purchase the CD you don’t really know what is included in it. Books, access codes, maybe labs ?‍♀️ Those that have purchased the CD haven’t posted the contents. Also, the book stores have no idea what’s in the CD and they can’t help either ? sucks because no one has physical books. Just a plain ol’ CD

I am sure we can find the books cheaper elswhere. I know they are just now switching to using them, but they have to be out there for less money. But I am not sure if there is a way to get this code for less. It sucks cause I did not plan for some of these expenses.

I would try and have it by day one as I'm sure that it's going to start off very quick. All of the books are ebooks, there are no physical textbooks this semester. Also you can't get the code for any cheaper, it is listed as the same price through the publisher. I even contacted the publisher to see if it would be cheaper to purchase individually but there are some online codes that would end up being more if purchased individually. You need these codes to access additional sources, as they aren't just ebooks, I guess. Some prior posts have mentioned that you may not need all of the books to complete the program but I am not sure of that. I have tried contacting the nursing department several times in regards to the books but they have been vague and never really got back to me about it. I'm glad the books are less than the $2,000 that is listed on the FSW nursing page, under nursing program cost sheet though.

OK, so if I understand this correctly we "only" need a code and this $1600 code includes everything else we need? Books and all the extra material? I am a bit annoyed with the nursing department, honestly. I called and emailed and I never get any answers. I want my old advisor back haha

Did anyone get an email about a college audit that resulted in an error with the tuition? In my outstanding balance (I had $0) it now shows a second tuition cost for $113.36???? And it has to be paid by Monday 12th.
