Florida Southwestern State College formerly Edison State College. I started thread for FSW but it is full with spring applicants. So I decided to start a new one for this upcoming fall.
Who is joining me next fall in nursing?
I plan to apply for Part-time or Lee full time. I have one more semester of pre-requisites. I am taking A&P 1, Micro, College Algebra and Nutrition. Kill me now. lol A full time semester of craziness but almost done after that hopefully with pre-requisites with the exemption of A&P 2 and a humanities class.
I plan to take the Hesi in mid Feb or march and retake if needed at the end of April. Schedule has been posted and I plan to study a lot this winter break. So excited but so nervous.
Luther, you can get it done at PCP if you want. You could go to employee health at LMHS or wherever to get them.
I'm going to get my physical today and hopefully my flu shot. If they dont have it, I am hoping Sam's Club has them in stock. They are $25 there. My TB test and TDap booster and probably varicella titer I'm getting at LMHS employee health. In 2009, I had lab work showing my immunity for rubella so I don't need to worry about that titer.
I haven't figured out where I am getting Hep A. Its not required but like my husband said, I shouldn't risk it and start getting it done.
Compliance tracker...
I called certified, she said we need a 4 digit code from the school. However, she said that going to my documents and uploading all the shot info is basically the same thing. I asked her where the compliance tracker was at and she said its the certified background website...same as the background, drug test and finger prints "to do" list, but there isnt a section for the shots to do list yet.i also went under my profile, and you can select all your shot records, add them to one folder and it will create a PDF file for you..called the school and they said they are working on it.
Do you guys think it'd be ok to walk in and ask krotov about about the vaccines/titers or should I email her ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ª
If you had both vaccines (×2) you do not need a titer...it would be pointless and a waste of money..the HEP A and HEP B are your choice....most places do not do a hep a titer but if they had reason they would do a hep b titer..again its up to you. She will tell you to call barbra ward at the Charlotte campus

Ok cool I'll just get it done at my dr. Then, do you know how much it is where your going for all the Titers? The reason I'm so anal about it is cause I'm not making very much money since it's off season right now, so trying to pick up shifts to afford it.
Vaccines and titer info if you have ever worked/interned at a hospital/D. Office
Should be able to get it free through them (accept the HEP A titer) go to employee health and ask them for your work health records (this is free)if you work for them, they required all the vaccines and or titers. i worked way back in 2005 for LMHS and they had all my entry employee heatlh records. But the regular health records wont have this, only the employee health!
The PPD is $15 through LMH employee health (bring cash and acceptance letter)
Influenza: your insurance will cover this through your dr, walgreens, etc
Physical: its not actually a health physical, its a health record! You fill in the blank spaces from your vaccines and or titers! The dr. Just signs the form. In the instance you do not have a Dr. I believe you can have this paper filled out by a chiropractor for $25 (cash/credit) there is one off cape coral pkwy next to dunkin donuts. Bring your shot info with you.
The vaccines/titers:Lee County Health Department
The only location that will do this is the one off Dr. Martin luther king in ft. Myers) (records are free) the TDAP is $58
PPD $20 (wont place on thursdays) return in 2 days for reading (covered in fee)
Influenza $30 (yes they have them)
HEP A $54 (2 shots =$108)pay seperate
HEP B $60 (3 shots =$180)pay seperate
Chicken Pox (cvz) $126 (only 1 shot)
MMR (all 3, measels, mumps and rubella) $82 (1 shot)
They DO NOT do any titers
They WILL NOT do the health record form (physical) because its not it's not an actual physical
They will not do the color vision test
Lee employee healthhealth:
TDAP $49 (hurts like crazy)
PPD $15 with acceptance letter
Hep A will not do but will do Hep B
Also, if you know your pediatric doctor, you can get all this info from them
Any heath physical that you have done an eye color test for in the past will work, just fill in the blank.
As far as the influenza went...my doctor this this..i got the year round one done and it was covered under my insurance.... However, if you ask for the seasonal one, chances are goid that not too many places will have this since tge season diesnt start until September..... If you do get the seasonal obe, you will most likely be required to get it again cone season
The TDAP is not the same as the Tetnus shot alone...we are required to get the TDAP (tetnus dipatherium and Pertusis (baby coughing thing) your health records from the department of heatlh will say TDAP (×4) but your TD will not work...has to be TDAP ( they are good for 10 years)
Try your school records aswell (elementry, Middle, HS, and college) you are rewuired to show these immunizations so they should have them on file....when in doubt, ask your parents, youd be surprised what they hold on to)

Classes that I have taken say 'not met'. I guess I'll have to go talk to an advisor once I get back from vacation.
