Florida Southwestern State College formerly Edison State College. I started thread for FSW but it is full with spring applicants. So I decided to start a new one for this upcoming fall.
Who is joining me next fall in nursing?
I plan to apply for Part-time or Lee full time. I have one more semester of pre-requisites. I am taking A&P 1, Micro, College Algebra and Nutrition. Kill me now. lol A full time semester of craziness but almost done after that hopefully with pre-requisites with the exemption of A&P 2 and a humanities class.
I plan to take the Hesi in mid Feb or march and retake if needed at the end of April. Schedule has been posted and I plan to study a lot this winter break. So excited but so nervous.
I spoke with an adviser yesterday. I wanted to graduate with my AA since I have everything completed and would like something to show for the 4 years of part-time classes I've been taking. Since our registration status has changed I'm no longer grandfathered in on some new requirements such as 2 semesters of a foreign language. They added another humanities if I recall. It doesn't really matter since I'm pursuing my Bachelors degree but it would have been nice to have. Also I'd like to let people know Hamilton's in Port Charlotte has an entire rack of every possible FSW uniform configuration. You go in try them on then they order them and get a 25% discount. They said they've been hearing some instructors are telling students to order them online if you do that you DON'T get the 25% discount!
So far where has been the most affordable place to get the immunizations?
FOR THOSE LOOKING TO APPLY FOR AA!! Please talk to advising and financial aid before you apply! I applied for mine got my AA but now my financial aid is messed up bc it looks like I have a degree and am leaving school when I have two more years left to go! Just make sure it's worth it for you and that you won't get less funds for school because of it.
I just spoke with the financial aid office. She said I'm good to go with graduating because I have a primary and secondary degree. She said once I graduate from my AA nursing with just turn into my primary. She said you want to make sure you're already registered for both so that it does not mess anything up. She also said having to associates degrees doesn't Ness with your aid, only if you're trying to get 2 if the same degree. As long as it's AA and AS you're good.

I agree, but when I got accepted into the program they changed my major from Pre-Nursing to Non-degree seeking, so some people may get into trouble. It just helps to make r the call and know for sure

I may create an "FSW Full Time" group on Facebook for those of you interested. I would like to get to know some of my future classmates for the next 2 years :)
