FSW Fall 2015

Published

Florida Southwestern State College formerly Edison State College. I started thread for FSW but it is full with spring applicants. So I decided to start a new one for this upcoming fall.

Who is joining me next fall in nursing?

I plan to apply for Part-time or Lee full time. I have one more semester of pre-requisites. I am taking A&P 1, Micro, College Algebra and Nutrition. Kill me now. :arghh: lol A full time semester of craziness but almost done after that hopefully with pre-requisites with the exemption of A&P 2 and a humanities class.

I plan to take the Hesi in mid Feb or march and retake if needed at the end of April. Schedule has been posted and I plan to study a lot this winter break. So excited but so nervous.

Taking my hesi test this Thursday and I'm extremely nervous. Lets see how I do.

I hope this thread gets busier as the application date gets near.

MamiLuv, how did your hesi go? Mine is in 2 weeks and boy are my nerves wrecked!!

It was ok. I didnt get the score that I hoped but it is a decent score. However, I'm retaking May 13th. Hoping to get the full points.

Best advice is relax. Lol but seriously though hesi study guide book is spot on math. Make sure you know how to do all fractions and ratios from book. The hesi book is great for this.

Vocabulary again hesi book alot of terms come from there. And make sure practice reading especially on what the hesi books ask. Grammar is tricky as it had alot of modifiers. They asked what was not correct alot again study hesi for this.

Now biology and A&P you need to study more than just the book as it is very basic. Definitely know functions of muscles and bones and where they are. Also know what controls what from the brain. Diffusion study that too as well as what makes cells, bacteria, etc move. Make sure you know the hormones as well. Hope that helps.

Did the pop up calculator appear on the fraction problems? If not, did they allow scratch paper and pencil? I know a previous poster said they did not allow it. I guess I am just hoping it has changed. Dreaming big over here! ;) I am just trying to imagine doing these fraction problems without a calculator and/or pencil and paper and it seems almost impossible. :sniff:

Theres a calculator available for the whole test.

Hi! I plan on applying for the FALL 2015 semester. Just left a different nursing school that didn't end up to well, so I am hoping everything will go as planned at FSW.

I'm taking the HESI in less than 2 days! So so so so so nervous. If you read this please send positive thoughts with me Thursday. Anyone else taking their test this Thursday as well?

Hey everyone! I'm applying from pittsburgh where I got accepted into one of their best schools but I want to move to florida. Just want to make sure I'm making the right decision. If any current or graduate students could give me their opinion on the program i'd greatly appreciate it!

Good luck. Let me know it goes.

I just walked out with an 88.67 cumulative score. Not really sure what to think. Debating on retaking it to see if I can get those full points? I'm going to go plug my points in when I get to a computer and I'll let you know how many points it leaves me with.

Looks like I'll be applying with 88 points unless I retake it.
