FSW Fall 2015

Published

Florida Southwestern State College formerly Edison State College. I started thread for FSW but it is full with spring applicants. So I decided to start a new one for this upcoming fall.

Who is joining me next fall in nursing?

I plan to apply for Part-time or Lee full time. I have one more semester of pre-requisites. I am taking A&P 1, Micro, College Algebra and Nutrition. Kill me now. :arghh: lol A full time semester of craziness but almost done after that hopefully with pre-requisites with the exemption of A&P 2 and a humanities class.

I plan to take the Hesi in mid Feb or march and retake if needed at the end of April. Schedule has been posted and I plan to study a lot this winter break. So excited but so nervous.

I applied with 81 points. All prerequisites finished.

What about last year? With how many points you applied?

Hi NaplesGirl and everyone else. First time poster on this thread.

I was told by a classmate from A&P 1 that has also posted, that they will not let anyone know until June 15th. However, I applied last year and received a response by the 29th. I was not accepted. This is my second attempt.(I feel for luthern50.)

From what I have read, I believe you and others will be accepted.

I applied for Collier, Lee and then Charlotte for full time.

When you applied was it fall or spring? Is the 81 points for this application or was it last application?

Well, see this is why I have waited to post. I applied with 59 points last year (very shameful) I had three C's and received a 83 on my HESI. But, I still applied, knowing I would not be accepted.

Here is my problem. I re-took classes from two years ago to increase my GPA and of course retake the HESI. I only received a 87.33 this time around. However, I was told that the classes I re-took from two years ago would not be counted. So, Do I really have 81 or to I have much less. The gal told me that this is a new policy. ??? I think I turned as white as a ghost and of course was devastated. But, I am trying to be positive.

Sorry for the long chat.

I hope you get in this time. Congrats on retaking classes and getting better grades. Btw stay in chat the more the merrier, we are all on this together. We know the anxiety. At least this time you know you gave a chance. Good luck.

Thank You Very Much MamiLuv. Words such as yours are appreciated. My classmate gave me the same. Thank You:geek:

I hope you'll get in. You deserve this. And maybe in fall we'll be classmates !

I am also going to post this as well. I know I am responding to you MamiLuv but this not only goes out to you but to everyone else.

First, I cannot recall who had a fortune cookie statement. But, I brought this along with me when i did retake my HESI, and wish this on all that read:

The mightiest Oak in the forest is just a little nut that held its ground.

I take that in a sense of hope and endurance no matter the obstacles. That regardless, we are all successful and will build from it.

Thank you very Much!

Thanks charschaal2 for the inspiring words. I'm the only with fortune cookie.

Im just so mad that I didn't so well in hesi. I got 20/40 points. I worked my butt off and I maintained a 3.7 gpa but because I didnt so well in reading and grammar then it brings my score down to 84. I was devastated to know I only have a 69 points. Even if I apply for spring and take those two classes I am missing in summer, will only get 5-6 extra points giving me a 74-75. It stinks!!!!

Oh my! I hope that's not true about them not counting the classes you retook for a better grade! I failed A&P 2 the first time and retook it and received an A. That would seriously just crush me.

But my failed course doesn't even show up when I run a degree evaluation and was told by my advisor retaking it would scratch off that bad grade.
