Hi everyone, well I'm starting this convo so we all can get an idea of who, what, when, and where with FSCJ. Good topics would include testing materials, the average ranking of points for the upcoming term, and any other useful ideas that will help us all get into to this crazy hard nursing program! :) So, lets see if we can help each other out....and it's kinda fun to talk about nursing as well :)
Ok, I sent you the FB invite.I feel like I've spent a ton of money already!! The uniforms alone cost $150 and then I spent another $80 on supplies (blood pressure cuff, scissors, hemostat, pocket organizer, etc.). Luckily my parents bought me a stethoscope for Christmas last year. Drug test was $26, background check $38 and fingerprinting $48.25. Then I paid $59 for the Tdap (insurance didn't cover it) So about $400 so far and I still have the skills kit to buy!!!! Thank goodness for tax returns! LOL!
I didn't get the invite and I'm having a hard time searching for the group.. oh well
but I know, tax returns couldnt come at a more perfect time!! I havnt gotten mine back yet but I'm hoping soon lol because I definitely need to get on top of everything!
I didn't get in. . So I tried to register for BSC2086C to retake it bc I got a C an also SYG2000 bc I got a B. I want to raise my points to reapply but apparently it is a state law that once you pass a class you can never retake it. I am beyond livid. I'm literally crying bc it is totally unfair that I took all my classes at a university and not FSCJ. If I did go to FSCJ I would have had straight As. Does anyone know how I can retake some classes?

I'm so sorry my dear I have had the same problem. I tried to retake a class that I took from FsCJ (got a C), and they wouldn't let me. I also tried at nearby community colleges, and they wouldn't let me. BUT If I'm correct, I think you can retake at UNF? I'm not totally positive tho. I think UNF wants you to retake any classes with less than a B?? But it's more expensive
Heres my story....I applied with 189 pts.... I knew that would not be enough so I also applied to the LPN and to my surprise I got accepted. It was the best option for me because I didn't want to wait until next spring to start the RN..( they changed the gosh darn app deadlines)... ugh. So, at least il be able to do the bridge program while working as a super cool LPN I've got the LPN app if you'd like a copy? :)
So, maybe look into the LPN? Its only 11 months and It's based off of total GPA, work experience and TABE test scores. The TABE test is similar to the TEAS. Once your finished with the program you can bridge to RN. :)
Is this your first time applying? If so, apply again for the Fall semester? Maybe retake the PSBNAT? But it's very frustrating, I know good luck my dear with whatever you do k :)
Kristin - I don't think that is entirely accurate. I have heard of many people re-taking classes where they made C's and even B's. I know FSCJ doesn't allow it, but I'm pretty certain that other Florida schools do. I will check into it too to see what I come up with.
You keep your chin up. I know you can get what you want. Where there is a will there is a way, not to be too cliche :)
