FSCJ Summer 2013 Nursing Students

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hi everyone, well I'm starting this convo so we all can get an idea of who, what, when, and where with FSCJ. Good topics would include testing materials, the average ranking of points for the upcoming term, and any other useful ideas that will help us all get into to this crazy hard nursing program! :) So, lets see if we can help each other out....and it's kinda fun to talk about nursing as well :)

If they can't do it at Walgreens any primary care doc can order the titers or they can write you a lab slip and you can go to Lab Corp or Quest to have that drawn=)

Thank u! :-)

I made a group for us on Facebook but I guess I have to be "friends" with someone on Facebook for me to invite them. You should be able to find the group though and request to join. Group name is "FSCJ Nursing Summer 2013" for anyone interested.

The school is having a health extravaganza on Saturday the the 13th of this month. Here is the link. Event Calendar

It says that they are doing health assessments, immunizations, flu vaccines, and much more. I emailed Patricia Seabrooks and asked her if we would be able to get anything done for the nursing program and I am still waiting for response.

Congratulations to everybody that got in. If you haven't got in yet, just keep at it. It was third times a charm for me, you just can't give up.

Thank u for this info! Il be waiting to hear from ya about it! Hehe. Congrats on getting the program too! :D

For those who got an acceptance letter, what were your points?

I had a score of 194. It was 164 last fall when I didn't get in. Finished a few classes and brought it up to 181 for the spring. Re-took the NAT exam and brought it up to 194. I don't know what I would have done if I didn't make again.

Here's a better explanation.....lol

Log onto Facebook, go to the group page you made, go to far right side of page under " Notifications" and click on "invite by email", and just add their email address. It sends them a direct link to the group. I tried having people look for the group and it couldn't be found. Haha. And with this way, your not actually friends, so your personal stuff is private ;) all you can see is profile pic ;) Good Luck!

WOW!!!! I feel dumb. This isn't until October. I could have sworn I saw March. Sorry for wasting your time you guys.

She also said that she can't really recommend anywhere to get everything done. Dead end here.

Thank you! I was trying to do it on my iPhone while in the waiting room at the doctor's office and couldn't see that part...now I'm at home and on the "real" version I can see how to do it. Thanks!

Ok, so I think I've figured the FB group page out (thanks abpeeler for getting me on the right track). I've sent e-mail invites to those whose e-mails were on this forum. If you are interested in joining the group and didn't get an e-mail yet, just post your e-mail here (or send me a private message with your e-mail address) and I'll send you the invite.

Got my polo in the mail today!!!! SO exciting!

Lucy

Ok, I sent you the FB invite.

I feel like I've spent a ton of money already!! The uniforms alone cost $150 and then I spent another $80 on supplies (blood pressure cuff, scissors, hemostat, pocket organizer, etc.). Luckily my parents bought me a stethoscope for Christmas last year. Drug test was $26, background check $38 and fingerprinting $48.25. Then I paid $59 for the Tdap (insurance didn't cover it) So about $400 so far and I still have the skills kit to buy!!!! Thank goodness for tax returns! LOL!
