FSCJ Summer 2014 Hopefuls

Published

Hello, everyone!

Since I have not seen one started on this site, I thought I would go ahead and get the ball rolling. This thread is for anyone hoping to get into FSCJ's Nursing Program for the term starting in the Summer of 2014.

I actually couldn't find it when I did a search.. but i copied and pasted one of the people on here that listed their facebook page..then saw that they were a member of the group, so then i got to it through there! its weird its not coming up in the search. Maybe something with the privacy settings?

I really don't know why it didn't show up. It's on closed setting, but you should still be able to find it. I tested this when I logged into my mom's facebook account and she was still able to find it.

I'm gonna try and mess with the settings.

Medisave.net has great prices and free engraving on Stethoscopes by the way!

I am already so confused about which stethoscope to get; the Littman Classic II SE is half the price of the Cardiology III and I'm wondering how much better it can really be.... Ugh, they both have great reviews. I want to get a good product esp. since I'm learning, but don't want to spent $160 if it's not that much better...

I'm in!!!! Days!!! I've purposely avoided this site because all of the rumors, speculation, and drama would have driven me insane during the wait!!! I have worked so hard for this and even happier that both my sister and I got in for this semester!!! Looking forward to meeting you especially those in days, but best of luck to all of you!!! Lots to do in very little time to do it!!!

I was told to not worry about getting a fancy cardiology stethoscope (we're nursing students, not cardiologists lol).

Yep, I'm in too for Days! My sister posted above me just now, so she's obviously in as well. I wanted nothing to do with this site once we applied because the endless speculation and series of, "I heard..." and "Well, so-and-so said..." would have driven me even more insane than I already was during the waiting process. ;-) The waiting was brutal, and I am seriously glad that it's over. What a huge relief!!

Congratulations to everyone who has received packets so far, and good luck to those who are still waiting!

It says in the packet that the instructors like the Cardiology and that inexpensive stethoscopes will have a poor quality when trying to listen. Obviously what stethoscope you buy is up to personal choice, but I would rather not make learning any harder on myself. Hmm..

If you can buy a stethoscope in person it would be better, I work in an ambulance and we don't have the best stethoscope but I can hear clearly with sirens on and all. So if you can test it yourself and see if it works for you, you can go the cheap route

So happy you both got in! Hopefully you both get in the same section!

You don't need a littmann 3, a 2 is fine. The proffs don't check and don't care. As long as you can hear the basic stuff you're good.

I am deaf in one ear so I think having a decent stethoscope is even more important for me. i went ahead and ordered the one that they suggested. I justified it by, I know nothing about the stethoscopes, I am deaf in one ear. I DO NOT want to have to worry with buying a new one half way through because my cheap one failed. So I went with the advice from the packet.

Thank you! I hope so, because hat would be amazing...and just super helpful!

Congratulations to everyone who rec'd acceptances & best of luck to those still waiting.

Lucy is right! Enjoy your last days of peace & freedom (not studying). This is a roller coaster ride :)
