FSCJ SPRING 2015

Published

Hello, everyone!

Since no one has started a Spring 2015 for FSCJ Nursing, I thought I would start it. I plan on applying the beginning of September I will take the exam in august. I'm very nervous of course. I have a preq gpa of 2.87 but I have an overall gpa of 3.23. Has anyone heard that FSCJ has changed their entrance exam to the HESI A2? Anyone applying to FSCJ hoping to get accepted for the spring?

Hey! I wanted to share this with everyone. I am confused about sociology and chemistry. So I emailed Cheryl James and here is a copy and her reply:

Subject: Nursing program

Hi Mrs James! I attended the info meeting for the nursing program on June 26th. I clearly remember and have it written down that Sociology will count for those applying for the Spring 15 term and those applying for summer 15 and beyond will count Chemistry instead. Am I correct on this? The degree audits online have already changed and are counting Chemistry rather than Sociology. Thank you.

Her reply:::

Good Morning,

Your Sociology will count in the point system for spring. The degree audit is not the point system. If you get into the program you must meet what is on the degree audit.

So what are we to do?? In the info meeting on June 26th she assured that the only change for those applying for Spring 15 would be the Hesi and that the chem/sociology exchange would be put into effect in spring for those applying for summer and beyond. I don't want to not get in on a technicality so I need some clarification. I have both classes but one is an A and the other a B. I am calling her tomorrow and will get back to talk.

Also....any ap classes such as English comp is automatically counted as a C for the point system. I am really upset about this bc that class was harder than any class I took in my bachelors degree. Just needed to vent! I get only 3 points for that with the new system...ugh

I agree about the ap classes but you can retake them as college credit if you want

Has anyone spoken to ms james. Is the cutoff August 1st or October 1sf

This makes no sense because I have an email from her saying that sociology is out and chemistry is in for spring 2015. Here is the email, and the subject in the email is Nursing Spring 2015

Good Afternoon,

Sociology has been deleted and Chemistry added.

Hello,

I tried calling before close today but had no luck reaching you! I am really hoping you can get back to me before Monday...

I am currently enrolled in Sociology because originally it was a prerequisit for nursing, however it was brought to my attention it was switched with Chemistry. So I am wanting to drop sociology before the deadline, however i wanted to confirm that sociology is no longer a prerequisit for the nursing program.

If you could please let me know asap, because the deadline to drop is Monday the 7th!

Thank you so much!

now I am so confused!

Now I am worried about the deadline being August 1st not October 1st...has anyone sent in their spring application in or asked someone directly. No one seems to know anything

They are throwing out the catalog they sent out. The dead line is officially October first.

Thank you jaturner1994 for the email and yes the deadline is oct. 1 i was running around looking crazy for the longest because i though they had changed it to august 1 but since we have an set deadline i should b fine as soon as i take the hesi which im still pretty nervous about. Have anyone else taken the hesi yet?

Im worried about the hesi

Is it official that chemistry without a lab will be sufficient or will we need chemistry with a lab.

@emmalabebe the packet says any college level CHM course so chemistry without a lab should be fine.

I agree that it does not make sense.

So the one they just emailed is being thrown out?
