FSCJ SPRING 2015

U.S.A. Florida

Hello, everyone!

Since no one has started a Spring 2015 for FSCJ Nursing, I thought I would start it. I plan on applying the beginning of September I will take the exam in august. I'm very nervous of course. I have a preq gpa of 2.87 but I have an overall gpa of 3.23. Has anyone heard that FSCJ has changed their entrance exam to the HESI A2? Anyone applying to FSCJ hoping to get accepted for the spring?

I am planning to apply to spring 2015 fscj nursing. I have been reading a lot of other posts about cutoffs and NAT test scores etc and I'm pretty nervous about getting in. I've taken the NAT test once and I am not a fan, but I also didn't study any materials beforehand like I intend to in the fall. What have you heard about FSCJ changing their entrance exam to the HESI A2? that would be fantastic if they did because I definitely do not like how FSCJ is the only school that has an aptitude test as an entrance exam. Any information you have received would be greatly appreciated!

I am planning on spring 2015. I applied for the previous semester but I have not received a decision yet. Unfortunately I do not think I will be gaining admission due to my NAT scores being low. I emailed the department asking when they plan on sending out letters and they didnt answer me. Instead, they sent me a huge disclaimer email telling me NAT scores will no longer be accepted and that they changed to the HESI A2 exam. The price has gone up. NAT was 35$ and now the HESI will be 95$. My issue is that when I spoke to the department three weeks ago to deliver my application I asked them if there was going to be any admission changes to the spring term. They said NO, HESI will not go into effect until after January. They told me my NAT scores were still good for spring term. I am going to north campus tomorrow to confirm all of this, it is not even changed on the school site yet. I have three months to study for a new entrance exam now... hopefully its the same information and hasn't changed in regards to the material. Does anyone know of any other changes they may have neglected to tell us about? Sorry for ranting

The HESI is a bit difficult. For fscj the pay require every part excluding the physics part. Have you heard of anything?

I went have talked to Cheryl at north campus a few times and the only change for spring and summer will be that they are using the HESI test instead of the Nat and everything else is the same until next fall when the new packet will go into effect. I personally hate the NAT and I am pretty good at the subjects on the HESI. I plan on studying for it this week and taking it Friday so I'll let yall know how it goes.

Does anyone recommend any study material besides the study book they have in the book store?

Is the spring 2015 deadline august 1st or october 1st

Applications for spring 2015 can be turned in starting August 1 until Oct 1.

For the study material you can use the HESIA2.ORG. When I took it for St.Johns i missed it by 3 points so I would stay pratice being in that room for almost 4+ hours taking an exam.

I just finished the HESI and I got a cumulative score of 84% so I'm not sure how well that really is but def going to study up and retake it again in sept.

Samantha what did you think of the Hesi? I am studying for it now. I took a and p 1 and 2 back in 2004. I am literally reading my entire textbook from a and p 1 and taking notes. Do you feel that would be sufficient for the a and p section? Also it's just reading comp, math, and biology as well..? No grammar or vocabulary? As far as biology I am going over the basics. Cheryl James said that they do not know how they will be calculating points yet. Anyone know if the scores on each individual section will be looked at or just the overall score?

I just got an email saying that sociology has been taken off and chemistry is now a pre req! Is that true for spring 2015? I am taking sociology now but i dont need it i wanna drop it and the deadline is tonight! Anyone with info please let me know! Asap! [email protected]
