FSCJ Spring 2020 Nursing Applicants

Published

Hi,

I'm starting this thread in hopes that other FSCJ Spring 2020 hopefuls will join in. Good luck to everyone applying come September.

@Danielle1904 thank you so much ? good luck to you as well! Do you know when they send out acceptance/denial letters by chance

i meant if u knew ppl that applied before and how long it took lol

@Hellokitty94 I spoke with them today and they said 4-6 weeks from the time of the deadline. Thank you, I'm afraid I won't make it this time. I did great on all subjects but one which kept me from getting those extra points I needed. Unfortunately younger me didn't do so well in math and chemistry 10+ years ago so I need all the extra points I can to make up for it. But I'm still applying this term. At least I will know what the cut off was and will retake the Hesi and apply next go around.

I’m going to Fortis. I’m sure a lot of people might have something to say about that, but I’m able to get in without the wait and worry about being accepted. The program is accredited. I might have to retake a class because they only take transfer classes with grades of B or better. It’s more expensive but I won’t be taking nonessential classes waiting to get into the program and I’ll be out and working a lot faster. In the end it just works better for me.

Jess, Are you going to FSCJ???

Yes, I'm currently at FSCJ.

@Danielle1904 you never know girl. I wish you the best of luck. It’s a learning process and either way you can apply next term. The hesi worried me because i thought you had to get a 75 in every category and I did really well in everything BUT chemistry. I studied all the wrong things from the book it seems. & learned nothing in my chem for liberal arts class so I understand

Why are you worried about your chemistry section? are you applying to other schools other than fscj?

@Rolyat9 no, it just brought my cumulative score down for the hesi

Hello,

I took my Hesi today and submitted my application as well.

I haven’t taken humanities yet, I am taking it in the Fall B Term so that’s a a few points I am missing. I’m very nervous about my overall score not being within the cutoff range. I have a 130, I have also heard that there have been students accepted in the 120’s. It all depends on what everyone else’s scores are for that semester. I was told that 120 students are accepted for the spring and fall and 90-95 in the summer.

I emailed the nursing department a couple weeks ago asking when results come out for the spring semester of 2020 and they said late October. So we just have to hold our breathes for another month.

Good of luck to everyone!

It is going to be a long 4-6 weeks! Especially because there are so many things to get done between the time of getting accepted and starting class; adding the holidays in there makes for a busy couple of months! I followed the Fall 2019 group and it seems like their denials started to go out a little over 3 weeks past the application deadline.

I’ve decided against FSCJ because I would have to pay out of pocket for the last of my prerequisites instead of financial aid covering it, and because I wouldn’t even be able to apply until fall 2020. Then what happens if I don’t get accepted? I’ve wasted all that time! I’m getting into a program starting September 30th.

Hello, which program are you going into instead of FSCJ? I’m interested! Thank you!
