  1. Hello! prior to nursing school I was arrested for a DUI in Florida but it was dropped down to reckless driving adjudication of guilt was also withheld. I was able to get my case sealed. But now that im applying to take the NCLEX, they are wanting arrest records. I have a copy of my booking report and the officers report of what happened that night...is THAT the arrest record or is it something else? since my case is sealed I no longer have access to any information regarding my case.
  2. They are taking about the HESI A2 entrance exam. It’s different then the HESI we take in school You don’t HAVE to take it after that. You can apply again with just your GPA (although I’m sure you will be fine with a 3.8). It really just depends on your competition.
  3. Yes you can do that at St.Johns unless they changed it within the last year. In that case they just look at your GPA instead. Those with lower GPAs would want to take the HESI.
  4. It didn’t even come up on my background thankfully. With yours, IDK how they will perceive it but I do think it’s good that it was 4 years ago. Hopefully they take that into consideration.
  5. Hello! I am now in term two of nursing school. For one school my background came back clean. For the other school it showed up but they didn’t give me a quick enough response so I went with the school that had a clean background for me
  6. Is the nursing school youre applying for looking at your other grades outside of your prereqs????
  7. I created a facebook group "SJRC Nursing Spring 2020"
  8. Im glad im not the only one that was confused about that lol
  9. I think I may just create one. One thing I hate about St. John’s is that there aren’t any resources.? fscj has so many.
  10. Hello! So about a year ago I was arrested for a DUI. I hired a great attorney who was able to get it dropped down to "reckless driving" and withhold of adjudication. I have never been in any trouble before. Squeaky clean record prior. BUT in the mean time of my court dates i applied to a nursing program before my case was closed and i was accepted then had to give my seat away once they ran my background. I received a letter stating that once my case is closed, "Your are more than welcome to reapply." Now that my case is close and i have a misdemeanor on my record(reckless driving), I have applied to two nursing schools. I got accepted into one and im still waiting for the other to reply. What are my chances of getting past the background check with a reckless driving adjudication withheld? Should i make an appt with the dean to explain myself? any advice would be great. Im not a bad person by any means. I made a mistake that I deeply regret. Im just really hoping that someone will take chance on me!
  11. Those of you that were accepted...in the email there is a "VECHS APPLICANT WAIVER AGREEMENT AND STATEMENT For Criminal History Record Checks"...Are we supposed to take this somewhere to get someone to sign it?? im slightly confused. Im not sure. I wish there was a facebook group. Theres very little info on st johns but FSCJ has all kinds of support and information. -_-
  12. It probably was because you live in duval. My stats weren’t that great I didn’t think. But I live in clay. Fscj is my first option too so I’m waiting on that before I make my decision. No doubt in my mind that you will get accepted into fscj.
  13. I got accepted too! Honestly I truly didn’t think I was gonna get it. I just applied for shi** and giggles.
