FSCJ Spring 2014 hopeful

Published

I haven't found anything for spring 2014 hopefuls so I wanted to put it out there and meet any other applicants. I am currently taking chem over the summer & I am enrolled in micro for fall. I took my NAT yesterday. I will be applying in Aug for a spring start with 204.32 points. I am hoping to make it in spring rather than having to finish micro and need those points, pushing me back to summer start. Almost 2 years of pre-reqs and sweating it out, it's almost our turn to apply  I am stoked!!!

Hi! I'm going to be at North as well, but I'm taking Monday/Wednesday classes with Dr. Lorincz. I had her for A&P I and II and just love her.

I'm excited as well! Seeing the light!

Have you taken your CPR? I am taking it at St Vincent's Riverside Aug 19

I haven't taken that yet but I plan on doing that this month between semesters. I heard St. Vincent's was the best place to do it.

still doing them ;-/

There is a Lab Practical, Lab written exam, and then a final exam.

We did the Labs lastnight..the practical wasn't bad..but the written part was all short answer. So not so sure how i did on that.

Final tomorrow night-blah

Specializes in PCU.

I'm taking Prof Lorincz for micro as well. I just finished her AP2 class and I love her! Her micro class filled fast. I had to check daily to see if someone dropped!

Yeah, I love Dr. Lorincz. She's fabulous. You're right. Her Micro class fills up before any of her others.

Hi all! I am applying to the nursing program for spring 2014 : ) I just completed my prerequisites, and I will be retaking my NAT at the end of August. I did not do as well as I had hoped the first time I took the NAT, so I am hoping to do better this time around. Good luck to everyone!!!

Good luck on the NAT :)

@kjkkm Thank you!

I am ready to apply! Does anyone know if it would be okay to turn in my application in person to the Nursing Department or if it is preferred that I just mail it?

I am taking mine in person. No chances it gets lost in the mail :)

Hi everyone! I want to start with good luck to everyone turning in their application. Does anyone have any suggestions about taking the NAT. I did take it already and I didn't do as well as I hoped so with that said does anyone have any pointers on how to study for it. *quick note when I went the first time I went cold turkey no studying just wanted to get a feel for it..;)

Hi Everyone! I am a Sp 2014 hopeful as well, but not very confident in getting in since my score is not even close to the 190 "cut off" I am taking Micro this Fall with professor Rawls at Kent campus and I am taking the NAT for the 3rd time Sept 28! I know it's very last minute but I am trying to get the highest points possible. My first time I took it without A&P and only Chem, but after I took it a few months ago my score greatly improved, but I can definitely get my scores up higher. If I don't get into FSCJ Sp then I will be applying for the Summer with all my points but I will also apply to JU Accelerated BSN program.

I'm 31 and unfortunately 12 years ago a C was passing in my eyes and the end goal was just to have a degree. Well now that is coming back to haunt me, but I won't let it discourage me. I graduated with a 3.176 and now have a 4.0 at FSCJ for Chem, A&P I & II, Human Growth. I've heard different things about the selection process and that it's not all points based, but honestly no one really knows except the selection board. I just have to put it in God's hands and whatever was meant to be will be. Good luck to everyone and IF I get accepted I look forward to meeting you!
