FSCJ Nursing Fall 2016

Published

Hello everyone!

I haven't come across a thread for FSCJ Fall 2016 yet, so I wanted to make one. I know it's a little early, but I'm really excited! Who is planning on applying for this term? If anyone has gone through the process of the program already please give us advice.

Looking forward to talking with all of you and good luck!:)

The math portion was all similar to algebra we learned in middle/high school and I remember a lot of word problems that required the knowledge of basic formulas. Basically things I hadn't studied in forever, so it took me a little longer to complete. And I'd say the science portion was pretty even - Chemistry, Biology, and Anatomy.

Do you plan on taking the hesi for fscj? Thank you for letting me know! I will make sure to study alot. :)

So I don't need to worry about physics on the TEAS?

Hey what do we need to to to make an appoitnment for Cpr that is required for admission? Like what kind of appointment and where?

Its not an appointment it is a cpr course that you can get done at any american heart associate certification center. I got mine at advanced cardiac training on beach blvd.

Association ***** It is usually 2-3 hours and you get the CPR certification in one day after the short test

I'm taking Micro with David Beall. Because I'm not a full time student at FSCJ, I was given one of the last time slots to sign up for classes, so that's who I ended up with... but he has decent reviews on ratemyprofessor, so fingers crossed! And for the TEAS, my adjusted individual score was 86% and I used the ATI study manual and then watched random youtube videos. The science portion was pretty tough - I hadn't taken Chemistry yet at the time I took the test and there were definitely several Chemistry questions on there, so I struggled a bit in that area. Also, I almost ran out of time on the math section but I managed to do the best in math. Doing practice tests is extremely helpful so you can get an idea of the time you have per section. I studied for only about a month before the test too.

I had Dr. Beall and enjoyed his class very much. Got an A.

I am applying for fall 2016. I took my HESI, did well, have my CPR, only hold back is that my microbiology class won't be done in time to count the points. I am staying hopeful and still applying ;) So nervous but ready to put my application in!:sarcastic:

@clars20 I know alot of people who got in without having completed microbiology! Since you did well on your hesi , don't worry!!!!! I am also ready to put my application in! February is so close!!! We will finally be able to turn them in soon!

Well I finally figured my points up. I have 195.6 points. Going to take the CPR class at the North Campus on Jan. 8. Getting so near to the next stage of my life. So Ready!

Thank you! I am staying hopeful. I know I will get in Spring if not but I just would love to start earlier of course! good luck to you!

You can pick it up in building C :) there will be signs that will lead you to the nursing office. I can email you the packet as well. When do you plan on being here in jax? Are you applying for fall 2016 for UNF as well? When do you plan on taking the TEAS at unf?

Can you please send me the FSCJ Fall 2016 nursing packet too?! I will be applying this year and I'm excited and super nervous all at the same time! I would highly appreciate it!!! [email protected] :)
