FSCJ Nursing Fall 2016

U.S.A. Florida

Published

Hello everyone!

I haven't come across a thread for FSCJ Fall 2016 yet, so I wanted to make one. I know it's a little early, but I'm really excited! Who is planning on applying for this term? If anyone has gone through the process of the program already please give us advice.

Looking forward to talking with all of you and good luck!:)

Neither I am, but I am stuck with A&P 2 and Micro. I have A's on thoseclass so far.. Just waiting to do final exams and see my final grade. If I get A on both, I will also have something around 214.

Awesome to hear!!!! :) It is such a long process. I am just ready to get started.

Hey everyone! So I took the HESI today and got an 85% overall score. I am worried about my points and if i should take the HESI over. I am applying without the micro points because i'm taking the class during the spring semester and grades won't be in by the deadline. I really wish they would extend it by 2 weeks so the grades from the previous semester count haha. So far my points without micro and with the HESI comes out to 196. What do you guys think retake HESI or not? I have an A in all my class the only downfall is I don't have the possible 24 points from micro. :( I haven't taken the BLS course yet and I really need to before I run out of time. I can't find a good place, I was going to go somewhere over here in Orange Park, but they closed their office and I really don't want to drive to Southside. How is everyone else doing?

I would not retake the hesi! I have talked to so many people and they said anything above 190 is pretty much guaranteed in! The application is due anytime between feb 1-april 1, so I wouldn't feel rushed to get the BLS course since you can get it in one day! :) I got mine at advanced cardiac training on beach blvd :)

The cutoff for spring was like 186 or something like that from what I heard. I would only worry if I had anything below 185 .

I don't think that I am going to retake it, but if I do end up retaking it does anyone know if they keep the better score? I did horrible on the anatomy section and that is usually my best subject. I was surprised at how easy the math section was. I think I over studied the biology section because I thought it was going to be the hardest, I should have studied more of anatomy.

Yes they keep the better score. Darn the biology was my worst section! Math was beyond easy for me as well. I only had trouble in biology unfortunately. I only wanted to retake it because of bio but would hate pay another 100 bucks!

If you study the anatomy hesi a2 flashcards on quizlet that pretty much is that section ! I had almost all the questions on my test from quizlet!

I'm thinking that the $100 might be worth it if it increases my points, thats a higher chance of getting in the first time you apply to the program instead of waiting for the following semester. For biology I literally sat and watched all the biology crash course videos on youtube, took notes on each one and then it felt like I did over a million biology practice tests. Reading a book wasn't enough for me I couldn't grasp mitosis and meiosis or any of the cellular respiration cycles lol. My brain just wasn't having it. Did you study a specific set on quizlet? I searched for Anatomy hesi A2 flashcards and there are so many sets on there.

If you are that worried about it you should retake it I am only following what the nursing advisor told me when I went in , which was I had more than enough points to get in . So thats the only reason im not worried about not getting in the first time. If i had gotten Cs or Bs then I would be worried! Lol. But honestly I studied for hours everyday looking through all the anatomy flashcards because alot of them are repetitive. I focused alot on anatomy which is why I only got one wrong in that section! I would focus on alot of the parts of the brain and their function

I think I'm just worrying to much. I have all A's the only reason why my points aren't in the 200s is because I'm applying without the Micro points. Retaking the Hesi would only raise my 196 by 4 or 6 points. I have 90 days to think about it. The fall 2015 cutoff was around 180 from what I read on their thread last night. I need to go to North campus and talk to an advisor I suppose.

Honestly, I am sure you will get in with that many points. I was also reading their thread and it is crazy to me that the cutoff was so low. I hope the cutoff is low again for the fall 2016 term !!!!! Lol
