I scanned the threads and didn't see one for this class set up yet. I'm applying at the end of the semester. Anyone else?
I got 119.5 on it after the .64 or whatever multiplication. That's about as close to 120 as you get. I didn't think it was to hard. I'm pretty sure since I took it cold stick with no studying that I could go back and get at least one or two more questions in that first section and possibly ace it. Just doesn't give me any more points really though. I kinda thought it was like a weird tetris game in the beginning with some nice brain teaser problems. Simple math shortcuts made quick work of any problem. The science problems weren't exactly rocket science, and the reading wasn't a bother for me because at my job I have to reference 1950-60 reports and know they speak an older dialect of english. Even then it was mostly questions references publishing, authors, and simple content. I felt bad for the lady next to me taking it as she left her print out on the counter and stormed out. I don't think she crossed the 40% threshold once.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!
Poor woman. I thought the test was hard too!
K nurse,
I recieved 110 total on the test, and I thought it was a test of endurance too. Ive got a very good vocabulary and along with that and the comprehension I struggled. The non verbal almost threw me for a loop causing me to waste time as Kris said on the math ,however looking at the problems and reasoning some of them out in my head i saved some time there. The non verbal was the same way.The science was a cinch , but I've just completed A&P 1 and 2 along with Micro so it is still fresh in my crusty brain. I'm just not a good test taker so dont let them intimidate you...hahaha....I am sure once you get accepted you will do well in certain aspects they will struggle through. There are many aspects to this cirriculum. My understanding is this classes ahead of us have a good portion of hands on learning and putting all this prior information we have stored to use in practical applications so we'll see where they are then...hang in there...
I feel bad for the lady that took it with Kris, however storming out and throwing your hands up doesnt accomplish anything.
I didnt think the Academic aptitude would have been a problem had I had more time. I ended up guesing on 1/3 of them so that hurt. The reading comp was no problem and I actually thought the science was hard:/. Maybe Ill have a better time with it now that all my pre reqs are done.
I can promise you this though. Had I seen that lady slam her paper down and run out the door, I would have probably hurt her feelings b/c I would have laughed. No doubt
Exactly my point, we all have different aptitudes....as much as we have to mesh with in the guidlines of this course we are different folks ...The reading comprehension busted my chops, in high school i exceled in reading comprehension....I have a very good vocab and those words were a challenge...I still feel for the lady with the low test scores, she is probably an excellent people person who knows , no one ever will now....do you know what they call someone who graduates in the bottom of his medical class??? Doctor....of course...not that not to say we should all aspire to be at the bottom of the class ...
I finally got an answer from the nursing dept regarding the NAT. The actual highest score you can get is a 140.8, but she said no one has ever done that. So I feel better about my points now.
I know, I know, I'm a huge dork. But I've been so nervous about getting in and how competitive things have been lately.
Squirmy,
You not a dork, none of us have made it this far by being dorks....not even the poor lady who scored in the 40's on her test...we'll all ansty and I'd be willing to bet in about twelve days we will either have or starting to get our answers for the next term....so hang in there and good luck....
