I scanned the threads and didn't see one for this class set up yet. I'm applying at the end of the semester. Anyone else?

Im really excited for you guys. And Im getting excited to apply myself

I had a dream last night that I retook the NAT, and did worse than the first time. AHH!

PLEASE HURRY DECEMBER, so I can just put in my application and quit thinking about it!!!!

Does anyone have a score BELOW 200? I know the cutoff seems to be getting higher and higher....ugh!

I am confident those that have the lower scores know its going to be a tough run and they probably arent going to be to vocal. Relax, we'll all know where the cutoff is in a few more weeks....I suspect by mid month the news should start rolling out...good luck...

I hope that it is below 200, simply for all the people who will feel that it is impossible to get in and will quit trying. I took AP English and calculus in high school and the fact that those translate to C grades kicked me in the gut. I ended up taking statistics so I could have a better points score for that class, but you can't replace the English grade with a higher class, so that sucks. Part of the reason I'm so antsy about wanting to know if I got in is because of the high points cutoffs and the knowledge that I can't do anything to change my points after this semester is over. I'm taking DEP now, so if I don't get in, I can try again, but I'd really rather not have to.

I have a feeling it wont be over 200. spring usually yields the lowest cut off of the year. what are your points?

It depends on whether or not the NAT maxes out at 120. It was said in Falls' thread that it doesn't, but the nursing dept hasn't answered my email to confirm it. If it maxes out at 120, I have 208. If it doesn't, I have 214ish. Last spring, the cut off was around 197 and fall was 194, so I'm thinking that it may go up again.

I think my hubby's points are around 196, but I can't remember. He just knew it wasn't 201 and didn't want to hear anymore about it. Someone told him he couldn't retake his one class, which he got a C in...so he feels a little P.O.'d about the whole situation

DANG! Can I sneak you into the testing center and have you take my NAT for me?????:lol2:

What did you do to prepare so well? Either way, I think you'll have more than enough to get in.

NAT question......

Can you tell me exactly what's counted for the NAT points so I know which ones to focus on when taking the test? I read somewhere that the vocational questions are not counted towards the points. I'm looking at the sample and it said "academic, reading, and natural science." Is this accurate? And what's academic comprised of? I'm planning on taking the NAT next week and taking the paper/pencil version.

Thank you.

K-nurse: LOL :lol2: I'm actually just a really good test taker and stuff from decades ago sticks to my brain.

There is an actual academic aptitude section on the test, and yes, those are the three sections they base your points on. Here is the link with all the test info and sample questions: http://www.psbtests.com/site/products/nsaeref.html

When you say "Nat maxes out" do you mean what the highest anyone who's applying's nat score will be?

CaptKris,

I believe what the ladies are referencing there is the max score available on the NAT to which I think is 120 pts. I am not certain on that and I am sure that one will chime in here eventually and correct me if I am in correct. So far in these postings I havent seen anyone with a NAT that high that I recall.

Myself I believe a lot of success with the NAT is your ability to take test of that nature due to components of it and the time factor involved. It's not really a test you can prepare for and though its based at high school level for a lot of us its material we havent been exposed to in years thus the random recall mode kicks in.

I have read of folks retaking it , however the ones I have read dont really for the most part seem to do that much better the second time around. There are a couple of exceptions I have seen posted. Myself I usually struggle with test such as that nature yet I did pretty well with this. We shall see in a couple of weeks how it all shakes out...Hope this helped you until someone with a little more knowledge than myself stumbles along with a better response...Good Luck..
