FSCJ/FCCJ Fall 2011 Hopefuls

Published

I know this is early, but I am sure there are Fall hopefuls out there for 2011.

Anyone out there yet, or am I just overly eager?

:lol2:

Hi all!

I applied to the summer program, but if I do not cut it this time around, i will be applying for the fall term. I took the NAT twice and I did SOOOO much better the second time around, after I had completed Microbiology.

If you had already requested funds for the summer term last year it should already show in connections. My award summary for summer has always been up along with fall 2010 and spring 2011.

I applied for financial aid weeks ago and I still dont know if im going to get any money. Ive never applied for financial aid before, can someone please tell me how this works????

Once you have done the financial aid application thru FASFA, your information is forwarded to the FSCJ financial aid office, that usually takes a week or so, FSCJ should have your information by now, if you said that you applied weeks ago. They use your tax return and family status to determine how much you are awarded for the school year. I will usually call the FSCJ call center for information instead of going down to the office @ Kent because they take FOREVER to help. The number is 904 646 2300. Also, you can check your connections account to see if you have been selected for verification, or if they need you to fill out any forms before they award you funds.

I better get up to the financial aid office b/c mine has shown zero all year. Last summer it showed the award for summer after I did my 2010 FAFSA. I did my 2011 FAFSA but nothing has changed in Connections.

Thanks,

KT, they say "3s a charm" keep your head up. Will you take the NAT again?

For your financial aid, if you didnt specify that you would like to attend summer classes, usually it will not show. When you complete your financial aid info down with the FA office there is usually a form that asks and I think it asks on the FAFSA as well, if your attending summer term. That way the funds are split up among 3 semesters instead of two. I forgot to specify so I have to wait until mid March to see if I qualify for more of my Pell grant towards summer courses.

Also, if I dont get into the summer or fall semesters, I will definately be retaking the NAT for a 3rd time, but I cant retake it until October. Im only about 4 or 5 points away from 200. So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but I have also prepared myself to not get TOOOOO upset if I dont get in.

Every time I check mine, it says "student does not have aid file for this term"

It says that for the summer term? I would go ahead and call, they take forever to get anything completed

yes summer term. I might just ride up there tomorrow

I am taking microbiology right now and I heard the same thing about doing better on the NAT exam once you have micro under your belt. I hope its true. I need the micro class points and a better NAT test score. I applied to the summer program but I know I really only have a shot at the Fall 2011 program. Good luck to everyone waiting for their reply's in the mail.

Having micro under your belt will help you do a little better on the NAT

Hey everyone!

I'm applying for Fall 2011 as well, but I'm looking into days not n/w. I just took my NAT today, but I'm trying to decide if I should take it again or not in May. Anyone know a good score for Fall for the day program?
