FSCJ Fall 2014 hopefuls

Hello everyone, I did not see a post for the fall 2014 semester, so I wanted to get it started. I applied to the 2014 summer semester and now I am waiting on my acceptance or denial letter. I am starting this forum just in case i do not get in for the summer. My total score right now is 169.96. I have 97 points for my classes and 72.96 points from the NAT. I am currently taking statistics and humanities, in hope of getting an A in both of them to boost my score up to 178.96. I made a C in A&P 1, my first humanities class and PSY1012. I also made a B in college algebra and that is what got my score down so low. I hope that the low cut off score trend continues to give me a good chance of getting in. The last 3 semesters were 175.96, 187 and 187. I am preparing to retake the NAT in late May to be in time for the June 1st deadline with plenty of time to study for the NAT. I look forward to meeting you all, and hear how things are going for you, so we can encourage and support one another.

And on the uniforms are they really fitted like the Grey's anatomy scrubs? Or more relaxed like Cherokee? I may just call and see if I can get the actual measurements for them since the size chart doesn't help much

The tops aren't really fitted...I would definitely go for comfort because you'll need extra space in the pockets to stash your stuff. I got a large and an extra large and the extra large is definitely much more comfortable for me!

Where did you get your pants from?

I got mine at Uniform Outlet - there's one on Beach/University and one at the St. Augustine outlets

It's due on the 25th? My packet says August 8th is the date for required confirmation of completion of background check and drug screen plus the physical exam and health related documents. I've already started scheduling appointments but I want to make sure I'm not late for anything!

On the first page it gives the dates in the box, read the second date down that states August 8, 2014 and it will say you need the required confirmation of the completion of background check application and drug screen due July 25, 2014.

? About the uniforms. It stays we must have the stuff by August 25th but then it says Meridys won't ship it till Sept 14. Am I reading this wrong? It makes no sense.

I was also unsure about this! Someone can explain please?

I was unsure about it too at first. It means that we have to turn in proof that we completed the application for the drug screening by July 25th. The results of the drug test are not due until August 8th is how I understand it. I will be at the campus on Monday so I will go by the nursing dept.and ask about it to make sure that is correct.

Congratulations to everyone who got in! We did it!! Before we know it we will be graduating and you be Rns. I ak soo glad I do not have to worry about taking the HESI!!! What a relief :)

How do the polo shirts fit?Do they run big or small? Do anyone know the biggest size there is? I am thinking I might better get a 4x just to be safe

I don't know how I did it, but I got the packet. My buddy from my old hospital called me to say he got his, so I decided to check my mail and I saw some big white envelope. I thought it was for my wife since she was expecting a big white envelope from her work. I still can't believe I am "conditionally accepted". My buddy was texting me how he was completing parts A, B and C online and I just told him I kept reading the "Dear Applicant" page over and over. My PCP is obviously closed now, so I guess I will start bright and early on Monday. Thanks everyone and especially the veterans for guiding the newbies. I had been studying so hard for the TEAS and HESI A2. I'm glad I'm done with that for now.

I was doing the EXACT same thing! I could not believe what I was reading. :) I was studying hard for the HESI too. I am going to continue to review over the basics of A&P b.c. I took it in the beginning of 2012 and I forgot alot of the material. Also I will be looking over the pharmocology and Nursing techniques notes I received from a friend. If anyone would like for me to send it to u let me know. if I do not already have your email make sure u give it to me and It will be my pleasure to share it with you. :)

Im sorry u didn't get it today. Don't get discouraged. I hope it come tomorrow too but rest assure that u will get it soon. I noticed on my packet that it went thru the mail expedited so don't worry, it is coming ;)
