Hello everyone, I did not see a post for the fall 2014 semester, so I wanted to get it started. I applied to the 2014 summer semester and now I am waiting on my acceptance or denial letter. I am starting this forum just in case i do not get in for the summer. My total score right now is 169.96. I have 97 points for my classes and 72.96 points from the NAT. I am currently taking statistics and humanities, in hope of getting an A in both of them to boost my score up to 178.96. I made a C in A&P 1, my first humanities class and PSY1012. I also made a B in college algebra and that is what got my score down so low. I hope that the low cut off score trend continues to give me a good chance of getting in. The last 3 semesters were 175.96, 187 and 187. I am preparing to retake the NAT in late May to be in time for the June 1st deadline with plenty of time to study for the NAT. I look forward to meeting you all, and hear how things are going for you, so we can encourage and support one another.
I am not sure exactly what it was because when i had applied for the summer semester and did not get in i attended the information session. She gave me my application back and it showed that they gave me 3 extra points so instead of my score being 169.96, it was 172.96. So, i do not know if they added extra points to my score this time. If they didn't then my score for the fall application was 178.96.
Oh ok. Well hopefully they don't subtracr as easy as they add them. how long do we have to get everything in by?
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL WHO GOT THEIR ACCEPTANCE PACKETS!! The fun REALLY begins now!!! LOL! Expect to be verrrrrry busy between now and orientation and the first day of school!
Unfortunately, you might not ALL get your packets today or even this week. They mailed ours out over a week period. Some of my friends did not get theirs until a full week later! But don't fret, if you know your score is higher than someone else's who already received a packet, then you're in!!!
And if by some chance your score IS above the cut off score, whenever you find out what that is, then do not wait too long before you're going up to the school to check. Remember I told you one guy didn't get his packet and he only had a week to get his stuff done.
I'd wait at least a week and a half though. There will be a lot more of y'all than us. Summer Term only takes 96. I believe they will take 144 of y'all.
Congratulations again!!! I am so happy for those of you who have received your packets! It is a beautiful sight, isn't it?
Congratulations!!!!! We'll be checking the boards to see which ones of you got in!
As whyistherumgone said, you may not receive them this week, but if you haven't gotten anything by next Friday or so and you know your score is above that 180 mark, then I would call or go visit the school to see what the hold up is.
This is so exciting! If you guys have questions, you know we're available to help so just PM us.
So if we have points above the cutoff and still get a denial letter, what would be the reasons for that? I'm at work so I haven't been able to get the mail but I'm paranoid.
That should not happen UNLESS you did not fill out your application correctly. That is the only reason I know of why you would have the points and not get accepted. It is not like they sit around and say, "Oh, this applicant has a 191 but we like this applicant with a 185 better!" It doesn't work like that...at all. It is based on points. Period.
So if we have points above the cutoff and still get a denial letter, what would be the reasons for that? I'm at work so I haven't been able to get the mail but I'm paranoid.
If they screw up your residency and have you in the system as out of state. I'm not home to check the mail and I am super nervous that they didn't fix my residency and I won't get in even though I applied with 220 points.
