Hello everyone, I did not see a post for the fall 2014 semester, so I wanted to get it started. I applied to the 2014 summer semester and now I am waiting on my acceptance or denial letter. I am starting this forum just in case i do not get in for the summer. My total score right now is 169.96. I have 97 points for my classes and 72.96 points from the NAT. I am currently taking statistics and humanities, in hope of getting an A in both of them to boost my score up to 178.96. I made a C in A&P 1, my first humanities class and PSY1012. I also made a B in college algebra and that is what got my score down so low. I hope that the low cut off score trend continues to give me a good chance of getting in. The last 3 semesters were 175.96, 187 and 187. I am preparing to retake the NAT in late May to be in time for the June 1st deadline with plenty of time to study for the NAT. I look forward to meeting you all, and hear how things are going for you, so we can encourage and support one another.
Everyone who requested for study material, I have found some really good power points on biology online and I sent some to you. Check to make sure that you are able to open them all and let me know if you have any problems, because they are very large attachments and I am not sure if they will open for you. You should have 3 power points attached to the email. I will have more material coming your way :)
Hi Beatrice...may I please also get a copy of your study material for the HESI anything additional will help I'm sure! Planning to take mine sept/oct. My email is .
Thanks!
Beatrice....St. Vincent's also has Unit Clerk positions, I think other places call them different things (unit secretary), but its pretty much a nurse secretary. Making charts, answering phones, greeting patient quests at nurses station along with many other tasks but working with the nurses on the floor. My sister did this prior to getting accepted into the nursing program and then went from unit clerk to PCT. Just a thought on how to work your way up. I'm considering it myself sometime in the spring.
I've been curious about the PCT jobs too cuz I would love to work while I'm in nursing school but wasn't sure if these positions would work around my nursing schedule. I'm also an MA so I've had experience but extra money is always a plus especially since all 3 of my kids are in daycare.
could you please e-mail me the study guide. My e-mail address is . I would really appreciate it!I have been gathering together different sources to study for the Hesi and I am going to put together a study guide (info taken from each source) of all the basic concepts that are most likely to be on the exam. If anyone is interested in getting a study guide give me your email address and I will send you a copy when I put it together. I have started on it already but those of u who are interested let me know when u plan on taking the exam so I can give the guide to u in a reasonable amount of time for u to study it.
i started thinking about the hesi test today after reading all these discussion posts. I went to sign up for it and there is no Saturday test days (kent is opened on saturday) for july and august. This means I will have to take off work. I signed up for the 27th. I guess i will keep checking and maybe when September opens up I can get a Saturday test day. I had no idea it was going to book up so fast or I would have signed up already. I really just want them to send out the letters already. I retook psychology over the summer (since my ap test only counted as a C). Now I wish I took it during last spring. The HESI test makes me soo nervous. I doubt I will remember my A&P material so I am really hoping 196 points will be enough to get me in for the fall.
i was thinking two weeks as well. I just hope we don't have to wait till august 1st. That is too far away!Looks like Fall 2013 started getting letters around this time last year...[/quoteI sure hope ours is on the way. I am thinking maybe after another 2 weeks they will start sending out letters :)
