Has anyone registerd on the nursing tutor community yet?
It won't let me because my classes aren't paid for yet, which is so weird because my award summary has posted. I know in previous terms my classes showed as paid for and $0 balance due as soon as I registered, as long as my award summary had already posted. I'm a little nervous. If it doesn't post as paid by tomorrow, I have to go up to campus again and wait in line at financial aid again because Thursday is the payment deadline.
So, for those of you who have financial aid coming and your award summaries have already posted, are your classes showing up as paid for once you register?
Oh, and I told some people in the bookstore yesterday that the iClicker was cheaper on Amazon than at the bookstore, but I was mistaken. Sorry about that. It's $40 new at both.

they FINALLY evaluated my transcript from my summer grades! finally finally finally!
she said my financial aid should post in 5-7 days and that people don't get charged late fees until after the first week of class...? i'm so confused, everyone says different things!
i was also very upset because when i went to the financial aid office before orientation, i was told by the financial aid office that tuition was 88 bucks a credit hour and that 75% bright futures paid 78 bucks a credit hour. today, i found out from websites that tuition was 92 and bright futures only pays 50 something.
seriously? you work in financial aid and you don't even know how much people have to pay for classes? ugh.
anyway.. i feel like i can be excited a little bit now lol

My financial aid is all green except "Disbursement Status" which is red (presumably because I've not had anything disbursed yet) but when I drill down on the link, it shows no holds. Having said all of that, with green award status, I do show that I owe a full balance for classes that I registered for today.
I expected it to take at least a full business day to process since the financial aid people said they wouldn't be caught up until Wednesday anyway. If I show a balance Thursday morning I'll just have to pay online.

I'm glad you're seeing progress :)
It's amazing how many different answers you can get to the same one question. Don't worry, we're almost through the storm.....well, the money storm anyway. I'm looking forward to the information storm though

is anyone else severely confused about how much their classes cost? nursing techniques is a 4 credit class and costs $511.40but the tuition & fees website says it's only 92.10 per credit. so shouldn't that class cost 368.40? where did the rest of the money come from? all of my classses cost more than the tuition & fees page says they should.

I noticed the same thing. I checked both the Catalog and Registration but could not find detailed cost per class anywhere online. I called two different campus' Business Offices and was told that a detailed (itemized) receipt could only be provided if you go to the Business Office in person and request one. (What?! - does the Nursing Department run the Business Office, too?! :) I have to drive to campus to get a complete answer about cost? (I mean, in this age of technology, what college doesn't have their application available online? As far as I know, only FSCJ's Nursing Department. Only school I know of where you have to drive to campus to get an application.))
I submitted an inquiry as to where I could see total cost for any course to "Just Ask" FSCJ, but doubt I will get an intelligent/educated response. (Never have before.)
Fairly certain that difference is "special fees" - experienced those previously for A&P, Microbiology and Chemistry.

From what I remember the past several terms, the red disbursement status is normal. I'm pretty sure that doesn't update to green until they actually disburse leftover funds to us about a month after classes begin. But then again, everything is done differently now that it's government run. Who knows...
Hopefully, financial aid will post to tuition balances tomorrow. I swear it automatically updated in the system as soon as you registered in previous terms, but perhaps it works differently for classes that are part of an admittance-based program like nursing, as opposed to regular ole prereqs that anyone is eligible to take.

And thanks again, Marina, for giving me your copy of the list of professor ratings. It really made a difference in my choice of sections
My pleasure, Natalie. Like I said before, us nurses need to stick together :redpinkhe
There usually are special fees with classes that involve labs. There was a sheet in the application packet that broke down the expenses per term. Of course everything is always changing (usually in the direction of more expensive). So the amounts might be different, but it does identify what the extra expenses are for. Some items were things like uniforms and such, but others were things that are being included in our tuition, like clinical insurance, etc. I don't know what I did with the pages from the application packet that didn't get turned in, so I can't post the list. Anyways, I'm not surprised by the amount of tuition. People last term said their 1st term was $1200. I'm kind of relieved that it went up less than $100

I'm in section 6. I just registered for my classes! But I can't register for Pham & Nut with the ref# 334160. It keeps showing me the calss is full. Unbelievable!

I'm in section 5, registered earlier. When I registered, it automatically accounted for my financial aid and said the class balance was $0. I wish we could get more of a bookstore authorization, I'm dreading going in there and getting my books Friday.
I was wondering why I got booted from Connections about 2 hours ago and couldn't log back in, but I guess they were updating the system. My balance is now $0 for tuition....yaaaaay
