Frontier School of Midwifery - Class of 82...anyone with me?

Hello everyone!

I just found out I was accepted into Class of 82 at Frontier School of Midwifery. I'm so excited!!! Is there anyone here that will be joining me in November? :jester:

Specializes in Mother Baby & pre-hospital EMS.

You already know that I will be joining you!! ;)

Congrats! I am hoping for FNP (class of 85?). Anyhow, I have a question - what kind of form did you take to the doc for you health certification?

(...A health examination that includes documentation of immunity to Rubella and Hepatitis B, and freedom from tuberculosis in a communicable stage...)

Is the health statement necessary to apply - or do you just need to be able to provide one prior to clinical?

Also - I got my 3 references, but none of them followed directions. I received them all back via fax instead of in sealed envelopes. Do you think this will be a problem? I hope not, because I would HATE to ask them to do it over again, and I really don't have any others to ask.

Thanks for ANY info you can help with!

Thanks!!

As far as your questions, for the health records I just sent a copy of my school/work health records with the application packet and that seemed sufficient. As far as the references, I would email them and ask just so you know you won't have an incomplete packet. Maybe you can put them in a sealed envelope and have them initial the back?

Congrats on being accepted to class 82! I am anxiously waiting to hear if I am accepted to class 84 (CNEP). I was wondering who the acceptance email came from and what was in the subject line? I want to make sure I am looking out for it with a close eye because I get so much junk mail, and they said it was a possibility it would be sent to the junk mail folder! Hope I get to experience your joy very soon!

Thank you! Congrats to you as well! :monkeydance:

Specializes in DD/MR, long term care, homecare.

What kind of experience did you guys have before applying to Frontier? I have 2 years in group homes and 6 months of homecare, nothing even a little related to midwifery but I SO BADLY want to be a midwife. It is the only reason I went to nursing school! Do you know anyone in the program without mom/baby experience?
