NJ22 I don't think I've done a CPR certification for nearly 10 years

Tweety glad  you didn't have to leave too late

Not a bad day at work, fairly quiet, helped some coworkers out

Emailed some family members I haven't seen in some time.  I've been trying to stay in touch with those I normally only see at holidays or reunions

Have dinner with J tonight.   His toe seems to be healing well

Tomorrow plan to try bird watching in the morning, first time in nearly 2 months

Will be in the 40s today, but up in the 60s tomorrow

Hi @Ado Annie

Poor pup. I hope they find a good home.

Hiya, hiya, hiya~

The downed tree stays down and uncut. ? Hubby saw the guy who wants the wood, go off in his car with his step-son this morning, and they had a cooler on the car's roof carrier. ? Not sure if their trip out of the neighborhood will be a lengthy. ("The Royal We" are not pleased.) I told hubby he should call the guy to ask him if he has a plan or schedule, because if we had any idea WHEN he might come over and start in, it would help a LOT.  Nannie is waiting for the 'floor show'; she wants to watch them work!

There's another neighbor who has mowed our lawn sometimes, who asked hubby if he wanted HIM to start cutting and clearing, because he needs work. Hubby said the other neighbor said he'd do it because he wanted the wood to burn, but if he doesn't get going soon, hubby will tell the other guy to start cutting, and we would let HIM sell the wood, as well as getting paid to mow and clean up the yard. I don't care who does it. Just start them engines!.................

The weather is sunny but a LOT cooler today. It was 87 degrees yesterday! It is supposed to be good tomorrow and then rain on Sunday.

Davey, the bouncing ball looks like a BB ricocheting in an empty boxcar. ZWING! BOING! PLAPF!

Joe, my family is spread out: Sister in Southern Maine, older brother in Kalamazoo, Mich., and younger brother SOMEWHERE in California. It's hard to keep up with him due to weather and other crises out there. He tells me it is a large state, but there are so many fires and weather opposites and quakes, and I know he has had to move several times due to his asthma. He's blase about events we read of in the news about California. I have a cousin somewhere in Indiana. 'Talked' to her via email about 8 years ago, but have heard nothing from her since. I know she's had a lot of physical problems due to a car wreck quite some time ago. Those are my only blood relatives, except for some folks of my Nana's family, in Finland. Haven't seen my own siblings in, oh, 10-12-15 years....who knows.

Now there's something I don't miss - CPR re-certification. Fortunately we had one cool and easy-going instructor who knew how to shorten the length of the class and get us passed on the test. She tried to let us go earlier than if we had to sit through the instructional video. (newbies got to sit thru the video, ha-ha!) The last time I had to take one of those mandatory classes, the instructor told me that SHE should just go home and let ME teach the class, as I was nearly the only one left at the agency who, over all my years there, had taken ALL of her classes. The bad thing was the classes were always scheduled for after the office had closed for the day, so you could count on at least an hour and a half gone from your early evening. I remember one time we had a Red Cross RN 'teach' the class and he was a humdinger (in a good way). He'd come in and say, "OK, show me what you can do." and we did, and then we'd go thru the test en masse and be excused.

Time out for supper, switching loads of laundry, and shaving Ozzie's butt. ?

And now, watching the network news....?

Okay, I cannot get this silly song out of my head now! I don't know if any one else got my reference to the Time Warp, but just in case...

Any way, decent day at work. I am also checked off. The instructor was an actual instructor at the technical college and an EMT. We didn't have to watch any inane video. He just broke it down in steps, and we practiced each, and then just kept adding on. We did have to demonstrate 2 full minutes of compressions. Ugh, my wrists did not like that! The steps get easier and easier: shake and shout, tell someone to call 911, have someone go get the AED, check for pulse and resp, and then start fast and hard compressions. Turn the AED on, follow the steps.   No more counting 1:5, 2:15, and what ever. Didn't have to practice giving breaths, or bagging, or baby CPR.  I know I've shared this one before, but it still cracks me up.

Weather is nice. Partly cloudy, up to the mid 50s. Same tomorrow. I told dd I would help her clean out her garage tomorrow. My Hello Fresh box was supposed to come tonight, so will do that for dinner. My doc wants me to see an anesthesiologist for consult about a steroid shot. Their recording says it can take 7-10 days for them to process the referral. And my doc's office typically takes 3 days to send the referral. So I am guessing I won't be seen until next month. [using sarcasm font] I'm sure glad we don't have health care rationing!

Hiya, @No Stars In My Eyes.

Remember back in the day when the floor nurses had to do the surgical prep shaving? ? Good times....?

Ugh, yes. The pre-op open hearts were the worst. Entire front torso, up to chin, both arms, both legs and groin. Boy oh boy, the pre-op area howled when the guidelines changed to having it done just prior to surgery and they had to do it.
