Good Morning ~
Sure got a LOT done yesterday!
At the hearing aid place they said that ....?....my hearing hadn't changed, but my acuity had changed .....? At any rate, they offered to send my hearing aids and the charger to be, I dunno, re-booted, cleaned, charged, and whatever the heck it all needed to have done in order to be functional again after collecting dust for months and months, but even just for that, they said it would cost $500. That is better than having to purchase a whole new set, but still...
I need to call the eye-glasses place and make an appt for an eye exam, and to peruse the current collection of frames. I'm not sure for when, but SiL said that since the 4th falls on Thursday, Nannie's CG will be coming on Wednesday the 3rd next week, but I don't know what the eye center's schedule is regarding the holiday. I'll look on their site in a few minutes rather than calling 411, because I'm not sure of the name of the street they are on.
Anyway, I got my temporary car title after standing in the 45+ minute line at the DMV until I got to the window to talk with someone. I signed a piece of paper, paid $28.50 (includes the notary fee) and now will have to wait a month before I get the real title in the mail. But they did give me the 'temporary duplicate', just in case. Shrug. Not sure of what the just-in-case might be other than selling the car, which AIN'T happening! But it is one more thing I got to cross off my list.
I drove out to the HFS and treated myself to a bunch of stuff that ya can't get at a regular grocery store. It was fun (and not cheap!), but I so seldom get out that way, I got two of each item of some of the healthy snacky-type things. I got a couple of different types/flavors of iced tea to try, as I have cut WAY down on the Pepsi, and I was tempted to get some dozen other things, but I reined myself in. I also stopped at the regular grocery store, and I still managed to forget a few of the things I shoulda gotten there, naturally.
Thought about getting my nails done, but I just didn't feel like sitting for the time it took, so I tabled that until another day. Tossed a bunch of things in the mailbox as I went by the post office, and thankfully didn't have to wait in any line to do that! I got home around 5 PM and my SiL was briefly visiting the CG and Nannie. She's supposed to call me to say which day this next week she might be available to take Nannie off my hands for an afternoon. She told me about the dry-needling she had done (15 needles) but isn't sure of the efficacy of the treatment yet.
Watched the debate last night. Before it came on I told Nannie I really wanted to listen to it, and would appreciate if she would refrain from questioning me or wanting to talk during the debate. Amazingly enough, she complied! AND, this woman who has the attention span and memory of a grasshopper, surprised me TWICE but telling me, "He (tRump) didn't answer their question,"...Honestly, she told me that not just once, but on TWO different occasions! It kind of blew me away, since half the time she has no idea what's going on during other shows, and thinks the ads are part of a program, and that she knows the people or she was there, and her version of things are usually WAY OFF! Anyway, I had blown off listening to the pre-debate blah-blah and the post-debate blah-blah, so it wasn't as excruciating as it could have been. And that's all I'm going to say about the debate, and I also plan on avoiding everyone else's opinions, too, so I don't get on 'overload'.
I conked out when reading in bed, and guess I slept half-an-hour before I woke up and actually DID go to sleep. But I did my 'wake-up-every-hour' thing for the first 3 hours, and then slept for the remainder of the morning, waking up at 10:30, so I feel pretty rested, though I could probably sleep another hour or so if I closed my eyes right now.
I do have MY laundry to do today, and it depends on the state of Nannie's sheets whether I will have another load.
Well..... it doesn't appear that Publishers Clearing House will be coming by with my giant check, balloons and flowers today, so I plan on lounging here in bed with Momo for an hour or so before I do the morning Nannie-routine. I feel too lazy to get up and attack some small parts of the cleaning/tossing out right now, but I would do it if I had free time (sans Nannie, for about a week, at least!) I keep telling myself it will be able to happen "one day".
All for now..........
Hope Dory is okay.
Good morning. Aw, the sun came back! But the forecast high is just 70. I had a good time at golf lessons last night. We learned to use a driver, and then played one hole. There are some more clinics available, and a ladies league that is low pressure, that I may look into. Dh Tivo'd the debate for me. I watched part last night, and part this morning.
I need to wash sheets! I hope the neighbors are back from their trip, otherwise I need to gather eggs and get water to the chickens. My parents used to buy chicks and then raised them for meat. I had to feed them and help butcher, which left me with ill feelings about interacting with them. I like to look at birds, I don't like to interact with them.
My feet still hurt from yesterday. I suppose if I just get up and move, that will lessen. I may go for a bike ride, too, once dh gets back from working at the Food Bank.
Dory let us know it was time. She started refusing food and treats. I called yesterday to make an appointment for euthanasia which was for 11:20 today. Then Hubs called me about 10:30 to say he thought she was dying so we took her on out there. She passed peacefully. I took some treats we had left over to the animal shelter. After I clean up the dog beds we have I'll take those and the latest bag of food, too. I think it's time to get the carpet cleaned good... the cats vomit quite a bit and Dory vomited some this week, urinated in the house a few times, and then had loose stools this morning.
I kind of enjoyed feeding baby birds at the wildlife rehab, though it made me nervous that I would do something harmful, like clog their "nostrils". They have to be fed pretty frequently. Parent birds must be tired a lot. But (if I remember right) they don't get fed overnight because once birds return to the nest for night-time it would be dangerous to leave it before daylight because of predators. I think parakeets are pretty and it might be interesting to have one. Hubs will not consider the possibility.
Wishing you all a good weekend. Today would have been my dad's 98th birthday.
Ado, So sorry to hear about Dory; very sad times for us fur-baby parents when "their time" comes. 😧
Maybe your hubs won't hear of a having parakeet because he wants to be the only "bird" in the home? YIKES! But, that discounts Gma, and I think she is probably the bigger bird than he is. What a lovely thing to say! But I'm sure you know I felt I could say it because I also live with a MiL-Bird! Mine doesn't cuss as much, but she has other habits and parts of her 'personality' and other things that she shares freely. (Ms, I-Pee-Freely).
Ado, so sad to read about Dory; yes, they tell us when it's time. Hugs to you!
I read a bit, and after lunch did a grocery store run. Of course, as soon as I got home I realized I forgot something I use frequently, LOL! I will go back and get it this weekend, sometime. For now, we have fresh fruits and veggies, and (most important): POPSICLES! Dh has his fruit popsicles, I have my low-carb ones. 🙂 Essentials in this warm weather!
Have a good evening!

Dianah it's possible, whatever this was it seems to be gone now
Rose Queen glad that the IBD is now under control
NJ22 it did allow us to mostly have single conversation rather than multiple
Tweety I get that too, I'm tempted to say I like the thanks but would prefer less work
Yesterday was another very busy one at work. Wasn't sure if I would be able to leave on time, or have much time for lunch, but things went more smoothly than expected and I did end up getting done on time. Still pretty exhausting, a flood of new cases and having to cover for coworkers has been draining me
After work I stopped at the train station to get tickets for Saturday and the grocery store, got some exercise in as well
I think today will be easier at work, and nothing really going on after work
Will rain the majority of the day today, continued cool in the upper 70s
