Tweety it's good that she is at least getting a home PT visit

NJ22 it's good you got her in, too bad she has to wait that  long

Stars I have boxes full of old documents that  need shredding.  Will have to find a shredding event someday

Dianah glad the cake turned out OK

Ado sounds like a nice day

Another fairly good day at work.  Hope that continues today.  So far having that coworker out all week hasn't impacted things much

Quiet night too, exercised and talked to Dad

Tonight should be quiet too, don't think J and I are doing anything, he had a really busy day yesterday helping an elderly friend

Another day in the 80s today, will be quite humid

Good morning!

Joe, hope you have a good day.

J22, we've had a few practices open up so it's easier to get seen here for things like GI, ortho or cardio, but others like Dermatology can take months.  Hope your sister improves.

Stars, you sound depressed.   Understandable.   Find one thing to do to make yourself feel good about something today.

Dianah, tastes trumps looks.  Glad you enjoyed it.

Ado, sometimes those little moments can get us through.

My last day off of two weeks off.  I'm still testing positive for covid but no symptoms so I guess I'm not contagious at this point.

Have a great day!

It looks to be another pleasant day here, will get up to the mid 70s, warmer tomorrow. Our little health department is in an uproar over monkey pox. We had one positive case with 7 health care personnel exposed, so that took the majority of our tiny allotment of vaccine. And the public and provider offices are calling for guidance. I talked to a woman yesterday that I would guess was close to my age (65) who wanted to know if her small pox vaccine would protect her. Well sort of, but I didn't want to go into detail about how she should interview prospective sexual partners about unusual rashes. One co-worker is convinced it is going to sweep through the schools, cuz kids don't wash their hands. Sigh.

I do sometimes resent other drivers who are using MY road, and don't they know I have to be on time?

Yes, Stars, you should do at least one thing to do just for you! Watch some funny cat videos, or go get your self an ice cream cone, or get a mani.

Tweety, I've heard about prolonged positive COVID tests. One of our volunteers has been positive for 2 months. He is immune compromised and was supposed to get immune globulin last week. Very nice OCD co-worker who got Paxlovid last week is feeling guilty about taking it, because she didn't fit the guidelines perfectly. She's been coughing for 3 months, and I say that's a chronic condition so she qualified. Plus it's on her provider to make that call.

Stay cool, all you hot climate people.

Tweety~ Your dx. is quite likely correct! I remember in 1994 a doctor said to me, "I think you sound depressed." and my response was a surprised, "I'M not depressed!" Then I saw an article about the s/s of depression and I checked off on all but one of them. (I do not have any suicidal thoughts or feelings.)

j22, I actually did watch a bunch of funny cat and dog videos yesterday! So that's one baby-step, anyway!

Is there a 'shelter' where you can take off and turn in your Albatross? (It has to be FREE, because our Albatross doesn't qualify for medicaid.)

Our weather continues to be hot and humid, with possibility of thunder-storms, as happened yesterday. Funny thing was that out at the Airport it was pouring so hard that some planes had to wait before they took off. Here? Sunshine! (minus the Lollipops and Roses.)

Have been requested by hubby to look in the Asheville newspaper on-line and read him the names on the obituaries. The fun never stops.

Ahhhhhh, we are HOME.  Got up early, dh fed the felines, and took the dog for his walk.  We loaded up the instruments and left home around 9:45.  Arrived up at Oak Glen around 10:15.  We weren't needed till noon, so we had an early lunch (there), and warmed up the instruments.  Did music from 12:30-1:30, then from 2:15-3.  Stayed to watch a couple presentations done by the group Code of the West (a skit and a reading of the duties of a wagonmaster, with a wagon train).  Then we headed down for a great early dinner (with bass player), and had a good visit at the restaurant.  We will repeat same on Sunday, with fiddler.  ?

It was probably 80 degrees up there, with a nice breeze and clear skies.  Some puffy clouds pouffed out behind the mountains, but they never came over to our side.  What a nice day. ?

Have a good evening!

We had pancakes for dinner so we could enjoy some of the maple syrup I bought in Vermont. I sliced some strawberries, too, and Twin A made omelets. We watched the latest episode of The Orville and now I have retired to my room to finish my book.

A bit worried that stepson is sliding off the rails again. He texted his dad saying he quit his job but has another one, that he was discriminated against, on and on. And kind of paranoid and not making a lot of sense. He bought a new phone on our T-Mobile account this week, too, which is OK if he pays for it but he usually discusses it with us first.

Stepdaughter says he's been spending time with her (about 100 miles away from where he lives) and she has concerns, too.

Ado, is the problem a mental health one, or substance use, or ???  Concerned.

dianah, it is a mental health problem. He was just turning 20 in 2004 when the first really apparent episode occurred. He was diagnosed at the time with bipolar disorder but I think there is surely some schizophrenia or schizo-affective disorder. That was a bad one, then again in 2011, and again in 2018. 2018 was the worst. Just horrible.  Looks like we didn't get 7 years this time. One of his friends just reached out to my husband because she's worried, too. Stepson's in Indiana and we're in Oklahoma.

I told stepdaughter to go ahead and meet with an attorney about the possibility of emergency guardianship and we'll pay for it.

I'm sorry to hear that Ado.  Hopefully he gets some help and it's not a bad episode.

J22, how did one person expose so many health care workers?  Did they all have close contact?

I had a dream I saw a monkey pox lesion on my arm.

Going back to work Saturday.  Tested positive Saturday morning again for covid, but I guess that's okay.  Policy is you don't have to test negative to return to work.  I'm testing just for my own curiosity.

Coworker annoyed me last night and texted "I don't want to ruin your night but you're floating tomorrow to do charge on another floor..."  I was bothered because she didn't have to tell me.  People that say  "I don't want to ruin your night...but......." know they want to ruin your night.   She then whined about how hard her day was and how she was going to take a new orientee instead of me "because she needs to be oriented to post op patients".  No she doesn't because she's already oriented with me on  post op care.  Kind of like people that say "I don't want to be a bother, but....." are making the deliberate choice to be a bother and don't care.   But really I don't mind that I'm floating.
