Dianah glad the water heater is fixed

Tweety a good idea to call off for today

Stars glad you got most of your stuff done

Was a slower day at work yesterday, which was nice after a busy Wednesday.  Felt pretty good too, didn't take any medication during the day.  Was very tired that evening, though I eventually realized that it was because I hadn't eaten enough that day, once that was resolved I felt better.  Tried to sleep without medication but stomach started to act up, so took a half dose and was fine

Feel fairly good today, hopefully that continues.  Will try to ease myself back in to my regular diet since I seem to be slowly improving.  Unless something unexpected comes up work should not be bad.  One advantage of this stomach trouble is that it has accelerated my weight loss considerably, I'll have to be careful not to gain it back

Nothing unusual going on after work either, another quiet night, which I could definitely use

Going to be a warmer day today in the low 80s

Didn't wake up until 11 AM when my bladder just plain screamed at me to get up! Then Momo said it was time to feed her breakfast, so I went down to the kitchen and made myself a cup of coffee and put her food on a dish. But then, when I started down to the den, LO AND BEHOLD, there was Nannie sitting in her recliner, all wrapped up in her shoulder-wrap, with her feet not elevated. She was totally conked out, and did not wake up while I was downstairs. I creeped back upstairs to recline in bed with Momo, and take my meds and drink my coffee. At least now I feel awake enough to get dressed and go down to tackle Nannie's morning routine. "Oh happy, frabjous day!"

So, later y'all~

Good afternoon.

Joe, hope your issues resolve and it runs it course with you.

Stars, you're going to have to explain was a "frabjous day" is.  LOL.

Dianah, you're going to have to explain what "rugala" is that you bought your husband on Wednesday.

I got up at 7AM and feed the dogs and we went back to sleep.  I got up thinking it was about 9AM and it was 11:45.  Slept well over 13 hours.  Sheesh.  For an insomniac that must mean I'm really sick.   Still feeling a bit under the weather, voice is scratchy but not working and talking it's not gone.  But I have an appetite and am going to have lunch.  Anyway, it's all relatively mild and and can deal with it.

Hope all have a good day.

Tweety, "Oh happy, frabjous day" comes from the beginning of The Jabberwocky. And I meant it in a sarcastic way...as I feel neither happy NOR that the day is 'fabulous'. Once again Nannie is showing me the jacket I put on her (her choice), as if I've never seen it before. Lah-dee-dah! "Thanks for (the lack of) the memories," (Bob Hope, I think....)

I had plans to shower and wash my hair, but they are on hold unless Nannie goes into one of her deep trances of sleep. Her bed was only damp this morning (as compared to yesterday when the wet spot of urine was larger than a 36" pizza.) so TODAY I don't have to launder....only put the ceiling fan on high to dry the dampness.

The very first thing Nannie said to me when I went to get her up to go into the bathroom, was: "Are we going out in the car today?" I told my SiL that it is all her fault that Nannie had become a 'going out in the car' addict. I may drag her along to sit in the car if I go over to Walmart pharmacy to get my refill. She won't remember the trip 5 minutes after we get back. Maybe if I buy her an early lunch at a fast food place, she'll get sleepy from eating? One can always hope!

What I called rugala, I found (in an online search) is "rugelach," with a crust rolled around either fruit or cinnamon.  Dh prefers the raspberry ones, or strawberry.  It comes in apple as well (at the grocery store).  I just checked the label, and it reads "strudel  bites."  Maybe that term is clearer?

We returned the RV to storage today.  Soon the awning will be replaced (it is starting to decay) -- it is, after all, 14 years old, and in the elements at all times.

No Stars, I hope Nannie has the sleepies today, and you can have a break in duties.

Joe, good to hear you are feeling better.

Have a good day!

Gma was up in the middle of the night and yelling at Twin B as he tried to get her to go back to bed. Then she was up early this morning and when Hubs tried to get her to go back to bed she yelled, "Hell, no!". The fun never ends. Last night she was sitting in the recliner when she suddenly got up and picked up 2cat bowls from the floor. She then emptied one into the other and started "cleaning" the empty one with her fingers. When I tried to take them away (saying "this is dirty cat food") she just got mad at me, hit me, called me names. Ugh. We're planning a respite week in mid-late September but if Covid is still running amok in the nursing home I don't know if we'll be able to do it (even if the nursing home was willing, would my conscience be OK with it?). Our plan is to tackle the 2 storage units that we spend way too much money on every month (and they keep increasing the price).

Apparently the surgeon who does cataract surgeries at the hospital put his foot down and said we have to get rid of the cat that hangs around and gets food and shelter (all outside). Boo! She is truly feral. I think there's one person she allows to pet her. Twin B insists she has kittens out there but no one believes him. Anyway, I think a place has been identified to take her where she can be a barn cat.

I bet there are hospitals that never see as an ER chief complaint "struck by cow". I've also seen "bitten by donkey" and others. I mean, the pain is real. I get it. We did a rabies series for a person with a skunk bite recently.

Stepson has been calling his dad pretty much daily and they have good talks.

Ado Annie,

Can I ask you why cats and cataracts have a problem with each other? If she has had kittens and nursing,, couldn't you tell?

londonflo, I'm afraid you'd have to ask the doctor that. Or why *he* has a problem with the cat. As the infection preventionist, I have no objection to the cat as long as it stays outside.

We believed her to be pregnant some time ago, and a cat's gestation period is around 60 days, but I have not seen a kitten and she doesn't let me close enough to know if she appears to be nursing. My son says he has seen kittens (not tiny kittens, but several weeks old) out there.

So, yeah, I took Nannie out in the car with me while I took care of the errands. When I was at the gas station putting some more black gold into my gas tank on our way home, I asked Nannie if she was at all hungry, and she said she was. She saw McDonald's and said "Oooh!" so I pulled in there and got us quarter-pounders with bacon and cheese, some french fries and chicken McNuggets.

NOW that we are through with everything, she asked if I was going out today. I told her we just came back and she'd just eaten the cheeseburger, etc..... She said, "Yeah." and then started pointing out her pants and shoes. I asked her, "What about them?" I don't understand why every time she answers a question, the end of the answer comes back to the shoes! I'm willing to bet that even SHE doesn't know why she ends up talking about the >@^*($#$< shoes! She's got that high-pitched, very soft voice she's using today, and almost everything is inaudible when she talks like that, all soprano mumbeldy-mumbles. I tell her to clear her throat and swallow, but it didn't help. She claimed that was her 'normal' voice. I have heard her speak fairly clearly, so that's a lie. I said to pretend she was MAD (because when she is mad, her voice is as clear as a bell!) and say it again, only louder. No change. So now I just don't make a remark or response if she chortles from her throat and garbles her words in that tone of voice. I should have kept track of how many times today that I had to say "WHAT?"----I think I've exceeded my limit!

It's now 4:45 and she has been to the bathroom and is back in the recliner, sitting with her hands folded and staring at the floor, then her pants and shoes, then the floor, then the shoes, and on and on. Sometimes she just sits over there and simply looks at me, and watches me, and looks, and looks. If I say, "What is it?" ....there's her darn habit again, of pointing out her jacket sleeves and then her pant-legs which she pulls up and says "See? See?" and shows me her leg and then, yes, the shoes! SiL said that yesterday she did that and Nannie told her "My legs go all the way up!"

Now she hears somebody talking, but there is no one anywhere around. When I told her there was nobody else here or out in the yard, she frowned at me. "There has to be someone out there," she said, because she can hear them. Okay, what-EVER!

It's OBVIOUSLY one of those days!

It's been raining most of the day, which put the kibosh on my plan for a long bike ride today. I used the free coupon I got yesterday from  the massage therapist to get a free coffee. The coffee shop also sells toffee and I tried a sample of white chocolate lavender toffee. Interesting, but I don't eat much candy, so I didn't purchase any. I also stopped and picked up garbage bags for the kitchen. Such an exciting life. I am still struggling to sleep at night, so I just feel blah all day. The dogs are being annoying. They want to go out, but don't like the rain. Sorry, kids, I can't turn it off.

dh keeps talking about baseball, and frankly I don't care, so I just nod and say oh. Then youngest ds will start in about how bad other drivers are, and I tsk, tsk. And they both get annoyed if I'm not hanging on their every word.

I lost the business card of the lady at the blinds store, so I guess I will have to go in there. She strongly suggested I email her, but oh well. But I'll wait until Monday and go early in the day. I got my tires rotated yesterday, and 2 of my tire sensors need to be replaced, but actually, they recommend all 4 get replaced. At $120 each, I'll pass and just get the pressure checked, which they do for free.

That is interesting that the eye doc seems to link cataracts and feral cats. I know they can transmit toxoplasmosis but I thought we all get cataracts eventually.
