Fresno State Nursing Program (BSN) Fall 2019

I recently applied to several local RN programs, FSU being one of them. Just curious if anyone out there has as well and if you happen to know when we should start finding out if we were accepted. Also any current or alumni, if you don't mind sharing - what were your stats upon entry?

Emm, that is what I expected. I saw last year people get accepted letter first in May 7. This year they moved the application time to February, so I feel like the first letter will send out before last year. well, just guess. I am super nervous too. I don’t know where I can go if I don’t get accepted. ?

I was hoping we would hear sooner too since applications were a month earlier this year, but nothing yet! I guess technically mid-April starts tomorrow so maybe this week? But I think it's Spring break so many not.. cry

Just received an email from admissions. My application is currently being forward to the nursing department for further review and it may take a few weeks to get a decision.

A few weeks? Now is 8:50 at night. You received an email at night? I am praying for US...?

I received it at 6pm, but I’m sure it was automated.

Still waiting on final decision, but I have 4.0 on my prerequisites with overall GPA of 4.0 as well and a 77% on my teas. I don’t like my teas score, but didn’t have a chance to retake it and it meets minimum passing score so I wanted to give it a try before retaking it again. ? But hopefully we will start hearing from the nursing department sometime next week.

10 days ago I reached out to FSU to find out when I would know if I got accepted into the program. Their vague response was, "In a couple of weeks we will be notifying applicants." It's very frustrating because FSU & other colleges I applied to need a response if I will be attended by 5/1. The timeline is ridiculous. How can I decide what school I am going to, if I don't know what program I get in to?

I don’t know why it’s taking Fresno State so long to send out acceptance letters. Last year it was sent out about May 7th. I’m assuming this year might be about the same time too. But are you able to say yes to those colleges and then say no later? I’m curious if that would work.

I believe that I can. But I only have a 7 day grace period window where I could change my mind. This is going to make those 7 days very stressful waiting to hear back from FSU. As you know the application process is very expensive.
