I recently applied to several local RN programs, FSU being one of them. Just curious if anyone out there has as well and if you happen to know when we should start finding out if we were accepted. Also any current or alumni, if you don't mind sharing - what were your stats upon entry?
Good luck to everyone!!
English is also not my first language. I honestly did not like my teas score, but didn’t bother to retake it either. I didn’t think English was going to be so in-depth. I didn’t study for any other sections other than science because I haven’t taken my science classes at the time and figure the other three would be common sense. I crammed my studying into 3 days and took it. The other three sections I did quite well, but the English was bad! It brought down my overall score, but I still met the bare minimum so I applied anyways. I wished I had retook it and spent some time on it. But since I have a 4.0, I hope I can still get in. I have known people in the past that got in with bare-minimum teas score or not even passing scores but with 4.0 gpa. But again, supposedly their team of reviewers change their requirements here and there so we’ll see what happens. But Fresno state has always been gpa based except during the spring semester when it’s only open to Fresno state students. I heard gpa selected for spring goes as low as 3.5.

Your post give me some hope since I Have 4.0 in prerequisites too. I didn’t apply any community colleges either. I also don’t want to go private universities because CSUs have better education. I look the graduation picture in Fresno website, has about 50 people graduated. I believe the retention rate is very good in Fresno state, Because many people only look RN pass rate. Someone said the teachers are very helpful. Maybe I really want to go there so I am a little nervous.

Are you current student in Fresno State? I see spring semester is easier to get in, but they require one semester full time study for apply to spring. I feel if didn’t get in with 4.0, (if not all the people have 4.0),maybe something else wrong, so maybe apply next year also very low chance to get in if everything stays the same. How you feel?
Struggleforfuture— you have a very high chance of getting in with the 4.0. I doubt there will be a handful of students with 4.0 gpa. Don’t overthink. I was a current Fresno state student until I took 2 semesters off. Now I am not a student. I have friends and families that have gotten into both fall and spring semesters and fall is definitely more competitive but with a 4.0 gpa, your chance of getting in is extremely high. So dont worry too much. ?

I was a computer science major before I said switched to pre-nursing and messed up my cumulative GPA. I finished my nursing pre reqs with all A’s except 1 B but my cumulative GPA is a 3.7.

I am planning to study all my life, but I am in rush now because I am trying to finish the program first, then have one cute baby. I want to finish the nursing program in time. English is not my first language; I need to spend more time to get them. What we all can do is just waiting now, no choice?.
