Hey everyone!
I didn't see any forums for Fresno State Fall 2018 and so I decided to create one myself.
I applied for Fresno State's program as a transfer for the upcoming fall semester.
Here are my stats:
Prereqs: All A's except one B (chem)
TEAS: 82%
Volunteer hours and some scribing hours
Anyone else applied and know when they will be getting back to us? Has anyone heard about last year's admissions? Thanks in advance!
Hey everyone who is applying! I have a quick question. For my transcripts it states to put the lab section as 0.0 and CR (which I did, the science prereq were combined together, there was no separate lab course). But for the prereq section the lab portion has the option to put "No pre-requisites to match." It also states, "If you've received a separate lab only grade for your science prerequisites, please enter those where applicable, otherwise leave the Lab section blank." Any idea of what you guys put there?
I had that same issue on my application, I was told to put the Class grade in the Lab section unless they were counted separately, otherwise it won't let you bypass and submit. Hope that helps!
Do you know if you need to send the transcripts to the school of nursing? I did back in January to Fresno State, since I am a transferring student.
You have to send them. But you also have to upload them to NursingCAS.
And if I remember correctly, Fresno State Nursing does not require officials uploaded onto NursingCAS because they are sent officials.
Do you know where I can find the information to send those transcripts to the school of nursing, by any chance?
I'm so sorry, I misread what you had said. I thought you said "for the school of nursing" not "to the school of nursing". No, if sent to the university, they already have them. However, if you're taking classes outside of Fresno State, I am pretty sure you will have to submit transcripts with grades for this semester.
Sorry about that!
Tuition was quite expensive; however, you will not be required to spend as much every semester. First semester student have to buy books. There's about 10-12 books that have to be bought, and you will use them all. I went through Amazon and spent about $700 on textbooks. You also have to buy an ATI program, which was also $704, but it lasts throughout the entire program, and will guide you to passing the NCLEX. Besides texts and ATI, you will have to purchase uniform, stethoscope, and a manual bp cuff. All together I spent about $1800 extra to just the tuition cost, which is around $3300 a semester for Fresno State. There will be new textbooks each semester, but not 10-12, more like 2-3. So the expenses aren't as bad as first semester.
Thank you so much for posting your experience so far in the program! I am applying for Fall 2018 as well *fingers crossed*! Would you mind me asking what pathophysiology book you needed for this semester?

You're so welcome! Any way I can help, I am glad to do so!
We are currently using Understanding Pathophysiology 6th Edition; however, the professor has already stated that she will be changing the textbook after this semester because she hates the book.
And good luck to you!
